I am so pumped for my Lit exam tomorrow. Like, overly pumped, i.e.: if exams were a person, I'd probably jump them and put them in a stranglehold, screaming "AAAAAW YEAH BRING IT, FOO'."

Dickens and Hawthorne both suck in my opinion.

My entire junior english class (except 3 or 4 Poe things, a Faulker short work (maybe a speech of his), The Lottery, and the Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge) was about Puritans in Literature. That was Honors fucking Junior English. We read some much about the fucking puritans I thought I was going to explode, the teacher even had a fucking 6-foot mock gallows in her classroom.

The Scarlet Letter is horrible, and Dickens is bollocks.

Oh, and she wouldn't let us say "whore' while reading Crucible in class, and got pissed at me when I said it or any variant of "damn". I had to read the part of the witchhunter preacher dude.

The version we read didn't even have those words in there. Fuck censorship.

I was the witchhunter preacher dude too! Last year.
... that was a great class, actually. Non-elective English this year was pretty lame in comparason. I got to say damn, and chill out on a beanbag listening to Doolittle and Goo. And my final was doing some David Bowie art project. And didn't read the Scarlet Letter! There was some wack Vietnam novel, and Catcher in the Rye. The only thing that sucked was Arthur Miller... /nerdy nostalgia |

My senior english dual-enroll for 6 hours college credit. We read things like The Important of Being Earnest, Macbeth and Gullivers. Our 'big' project was to write an essay on a banned or challenge book. I tried doing it on East of Eden, but couldn't find enough sources, so I ended up doing it on both A Clockwork Orange and 1984. Senior year was fucking great for reading, other than those I read, of my own according: The whole Hitchhiker's Guide, Catcher in the Rye, Grapes of Wrath, The Picture of Dorian Gray, and a couple of other books. Amazing.

I also tried reading Ulysses for the first time but got 100 pages or so in and then I blew a gasket.
Other than the books and graduating, senior year sucked major cock. /bitching Irrelevant: I have a 4-piece Batman Pez dispenser set.
