My dream is that the owner, knowing what a good patron I am, will someday reveal to me that he's retiring and selling the store, and he'll hand it over to me for next to nothing. I can dream, can't I?

It could happen. When my friend's store closed after 20 years, he had a list of people getting "dibs" on the bazillions of cool promo posters he'd had up for years and years. My favorite (though I am not a huge fan, actually) was the one of Nina Hagen wearing a fetish mask and shooting green laser beams from her eyes.
