I think that the era directly following it though, from Perverted by Language through to I am, Kurious Orang, is also a real golden one. Since then it's been more individual albums that have stood out rather than whole sequences of them. Those two eras, the pre-Brix era and the Brix one are the real highpoints for me though. The post-Brix years, while always interesting, have been a lot more hit and miss, I think.

mark e smith sounds more and more like vera lynn with every record he releases, infact i'd call him a cross between vera lynn and paul mckenna because there's no other logical way i can think of that explains why people still think the falll are worthwhile other than because they have been put under some form of mass hypnosis
