Just pick one from the early 80s, one from the late 80s, one from the early 90s, one from the late 90s and that should get you acquainted with his styles.

I tend to like his later stuff better, when his voice got deeper, and the stuff got darker.. try his fretless bass albums

enjoying the lovely psycho killer fucked up blues of on the way at the moment
some nights ago i was falling asleep to chair beside .. and its so hipnotic.. i was still in the wakefulness state but my mind was doing weird shit with the notes.. every guitar string was like an instrument and every note was doing something.. some notes were forcing other notes to do things they didnt wanna and some notes were killing the others.. and some notes were crying.. no drugs involved trippy shit the easiest way to get that is with either an electronic music album or a jandek record
