I think i'll work on mine later today and see what I come up with. Granted I'm only 16 and I am still yet to hear all the music out there that you guys have. I'll have to make do with my 350 CD's for now.

Mine would change daily. I'd just spread out my 2,000+ cd's and pick a random 73. I love them all, I couldn't even begin to pick a top 73.

my cds are scattered between my parent's house on cape cod, ma (where i am now) and my apartment at the university of arizona. all together id say i have around 1500 to 2000 cds. not to mention all the ones that ive traded and sold over the years. also got shit loads of old tapes and mixtapes, about 80 vinyl, etc.. my parents say its an addiction, which it probably is, but better than shooting junk thats for fucking sure.

Sometimes, when I'm sat on the internet, I like to incorporate a little turn of the wrist, just at the apex of the up-stroke. The heightened sensation usually inspires me when I'm getting to the end of a tricky list and I can't decide whether I should put Bob Marley or Public Enemy. And BAM! As the spunk hits the keyboard, I've got it! Something that no-one else would think of, like the first Fresh Prince album.

My housemate got it recently. It's a good 'un. Unfortunately, I think you just illustrated my point.

even though will smith is probably the rapper who is most OK for white people to like (along with jurassic 5 & eminem) he doesn't have any indierock kudos* (unlike J5 or eminem) so you won't see him on any lists here. *due to his low "authenticity" rating, i.e. he's black but he's not angry or poor |

Do you remember when Black Eyed Peas were the hip-hop group to out-hip J5 when they got a bit popular?
Actually, d'you know what I was listening to from that sort of period the other day? DJ Vadim. I'd completely forgotton about him.

I remember when black eyed peas first came out and people just said they were like J5 but not as good. Funny about DJ Vadim though as I was covering reception at work today and we got cold called by Ninja Tune trying to find out stuff about people who choose which music to put over the credits at the end of TV programs. Has that label even put out a record this decade? |

they're still meant to be going but haven't done anything significant for ages. The Bug stuff has been about the highest profile.

I know they put out some stuff on ninja tunes, the album anyway, but i don't know how much.
They're one of those labels that seemed to have its moment but were too tied in witth a quite small genre so when it dropped out of fashion, they sort of went with it, unable to move forward. a bit like Metalheadz. |
