savage clone: i will edit to give you credit, didn't notice your post. beat me to it!
there's some confusion because there's sixties dream syndicate movement/collective with young, conrad, cale, etc. and there was a jangle pop band from california circa late 70's/early 80's also called the dream syndicate who released albums such as days of wine and roses. i thihnk there's big confusion between noise and dissonant/discordant rock. |

To me there are two different kinds of noise:
distortion noise distortion free noise noise is unstructured sounds that to a mojoirty of people is unpleasant. So it does not have to be loud to be noise, just free of all forms of structures. By this definition some of Derek Bailey's stuff could be considered noise. The idea of basing an entire genre of music to distortion noise kind of jolts me because you can only come up with so many sounds. Wich brings me to this point: Recorded noise sucks! See it live! |

I'm following this thread with interest as I don't own any noise LPs, although I like the bits I've heard by Leslie Keffer and Alchemical Burn.

I'm not sure whether this falls under noise, electro-acoustic or dark ambient. In fact dark ambient and electro-acoustic are quite similar I think, with a lot of relevant and related points between them; so I'm just going to lump this album in here...

fine. now that you've got that off your chest, sit back and relax and listen to the music... or no, FEEL the music.
