I feel kind of weird having a myspace for my new band, but I have several friends with "real" websites in addition to myspace pages, and they all seem to get more myspace traffic than actual website traffic. We will still have a real website as well, but for now having the myspace was a quick and easy route to get some sounds up online.
I really hate the interface and layout of that site, though. |

Good man. I'll check it out properly tomorrow lunchtime, when I can switch on the speakers on the PC here at work.
EDIT - ooh, there's Gentle Tasaday myspace too! I shall have to make an especially nice sandwich to eat while I listen to these hot new sounds. |

There something sickening about listing your friends and enumerating your pleasures for all to see.

Exactly. Especially nauseating to watch for those of us without friends or pleasures. |

howmany people really make friends from myspace, all my myspace friends except for grinderman i know in person but most are loose aquaintences whom i don't spend anytime with except for having a brief chat and a drink with them when i see them at a show or something.

I have a myspace. Really only to communicate with a friend when we can't get onto various music boards. I don't do the IM stuff with AOL and the like, so PMing is just as good to me and there's no 45 second-type delay.
I also occasionally surf the music stuff. All I've done is put in a page of pictures, and they're from when I saw Sonic Youth last summer, no info at all or adornments. I don't even have any 'friends', and it's private anyway. Someday I may decide to beef up my site. I don't know how I get friend requests, I'm totally out of the loop there, completely hidden in the shadows, so I thought. If you wanna peak at NOTHING...it's http://www.myspace.com/happyjusttodancewithyou
