Drug companies, though they perform a valuable service by providing needed medication for many people with illnesses, really gouge the people on the price of prescription medication and even create drugs that many people don't need. It is almost like a conspiracy how they and medical doctors prescribe medication too often to people who don't really need it. Ritalin is a perfect example. Millions of children are being prescribed Ritalin when most do not really need it. Out teaching methods are severely obsolete, outdated and drastically innefective these days. So instead of getting teachers to teach the children differently and more effectively, they create drugs to zone kids out so they'll sit still and shut their yaps for six hours a day regardless of how it may adversely affect their brains and mental faculties. Ritalin is speed people, think long and hard before you give it to yr kids. It can be detrimental to their health. Besides, kids aren't supposed to be interested in school. Learning is boring to a six year old. They want to play in the dirt and eat bugs. Learning about the multiplication table bored the shit out of me 15 years ago and still does today. Their are other methods of learning and absorbing knowledge. It's just that no one wants to take the time to learn no ways of learning. It's simpler to create drugs that brain wash children into paying attention and remember shit.

I make an OxyContin or a Morphine Sulfate tablet last a whole week. I only get one or two a month from a friend whose father is terminal. With the Oxy, I scrape off the time-release coating and then crush it into powder. I then take little hits of it on my moistened finger and place it on my tongue. A little alcohol, a little bud, and just a little itsty-bitsy bit of narcotic really makes music beyond amazing.
As static-harmony & others already know I'm sure, Adderall is a much cleaner, newer version of Ritalin. Most Ritalin-takers don't want to try a new medication though and most doctors shy away from changing anything. kingcoffee's post sort of goes back to the animal testing thread because there's far too many useless drugs being developed & they all require animal testing which is a shame since the drugs are mostly useless. I love the Bill Maher joke: The ad actually says to, "tell your doctor." Tell your doctor? If you're telling your doctor what drugs you want he's no longer a physician, he's a pusher. |
