Thanks for posting the prices of this stuff cause just when I start to get jealous and think about running out and buying a turntable, I remember the prices and the fact that eventually it's going to scratch.......

I believe that is the nature of the vinyl locked groove, the pop you hear is the intersection of the groove leading into the loop and the loop itself. No way around that. it is not a clead digital loop. My original SST version does the same thing... |

Anyone know how many copies of Hits Are For Squares were pressed? Seems like Evol and CIS would've been numbered too.

Must've been quite a few, as there's no shortage of them in comparison to CIS & EVOL. Maybe 5k or 10k? What's the highest number anyone has? Mine's only 0213. |

Yeah, but is that for the US or worldwide? The list I had only showed the UK totals (eg 300 copies of the Soundgarden 7", when Sub Pop's website lists 5475 total). It also didn't have any figures for Hits. |

My list seemed to be a worldwide total.

Hey EVOL has that picture of the two ladies that was blacked out of later pressings! Any chance you can scan a close up (upper right hand corner of the side of the sleeve you pictured)?

Also I noticed for the first time on the sst sister insert it says under the Sear Sound info 'march & april 1987' implying the months of recording of course...I never noticed that before, rechecking my blast first lp reissue, it gets cut off and the cd and cassette version don't have that at all. Total trivial nerd shit!!! |

well i am nothing if not a trivial nerd!
my "mute" copy of EVOL has the pic blacked out. i'd love to see a close-up scan to determine why the hell they blacked it out, since the copyright police surely ignored 'friday the 13th part 2' and 'children of the corn' imagery...
