Let me add......next season if Milwaukee, Phoenix or Denver (anyone other than Dallas) go on a run like Golden State did this year, I'll be posting about here. NOT because I'm on a bandwagon......simply because it's happening! Some of my most favorite takes concerning Cavs: Richard Jefferson announced his retirement: Respect the troll game: |

The end of an era like no other:
Only 3 players have won: Wooden Award, Rookie of the Year, MVP, Finals MVP, All-Star Game MVP Larry Bird, Michael Jordan & Tim Duncan Steve Kerr on his pal Timmy: "Just a phenomenal teammate. A superstar with the humility of someone who just feels lucky to be in the league" Tim Duncan and a very young Chris Paul. Shaquille O'Neal on the retirement of longtime rival Tim Duncan: "Greatest power forward ever. Unbreakable power forward." Tim Duncan made a living going glass in his career. No NBA player was nearly as effective with the bank shot. Tim Duncan retires. No statement. No letter. Just a brief Spurs release: 1,072-438 (.710) record. Five championships. Goodbye No. 21. The EXTREME of two oposites......one heck of a HOF class. Just a small hand full of player remain in the NBA that played against the likes of: Jordan, Dream, Stockton & Malone. |

The Houston Rockets just defeated the OKC Thunder for the second time in three games this season.
Russell Westbrook scored 49 points, making a carrier high eight 3-pointers. James Harden missed his fourth straight triple double by two rebounds. NBA History was made tonight: James Harden debuted his new Adidas Harden Vol. 1 "Gila Monster" vs. OKC In San Antonio Spurs News......in 56% of their games this season (20 of 36 games), the Spurs have led by 15 or more points. The Spurs are 19-0 when leading by 15. |

This past Friday night during Super Bowl week in Houston, The Rockets retired Yao Mings jersey:
James Harden scored his 10,000 point in a Rockets jersey that night. |

Charles Barkley mopped the floor with James last week. LeBron's comments, "not going to destroy my legacy," is the prelude to his "carrier" if he doesn't ever win / defend Back-2-Back Championships. James hit a big shot last night, but the Cavaliers are not far from imploding......at least until the trade deadline passes.

32 points for Blake Griffin at NY Knicks tonight, which is only the second time all season a Clipper has scored 30+ in a game......both by him.

With the unofficial start of the NBA's 2nd Half of the Season starting tonight, I thought I would post the current standings......last years are posted for comparison: East Top 5 01. Cleveland 39-16 02. Boston 37-20 03. Washington 34-21 04. Toronto 33-24 05. Atlanta 32-24 (hey hey Dwight Howard) East Bottom 2 Orlando 21-37 Brooklyn 9-47 West Top 5 01. Golden State 47-9 02. San Antonio 43-13 03. Houston 40-18 04. Clippers 35-21 05. Utah 35-22 West Bottom 2 Lakers 19-39 Suns 18-39 To a degree, the East totals are somewhat skewed with Brooklyn only having nine wins. By comparison, the West worst team, Phoenix, have double the amount of wins. The NBA Trade deadline is 30 minutes away (3pm EST), I don't think the Houston Rockets are done dealing. |

Such a fun Monday night in the NBA:
Kawhi Leonard Drug Tested After Win Against Houston Tonight we learned: The Celtics Are Really The Clippers And The Clippers Are Really The Celtics For the first time since February 2013, Chris Paul had more turnovers than assists. Clippers scored 73 points in the second half. They scored 43 points in the first half, and then dropped 41 in the fourth quarter. One minute in to his Cleveland Cavalier debut, Andrew Bogut season comes to a END. |

Going back to Jazz at Clippers Game 7 Sunday
Paul Pierce played his final NBA game: top 15 in all time scoring top 5 in 3 point shooting NBA Finals MVP Clippers losing 3 out of 4 at home......Jazz played a mentally tough while the Clippers were polar opposite. Such a BIG win for the Jazz, especially for the franchise going forward. Everything CP3 was in New Orleans, he has failed to be in LA......end of an Era? Disregarding everything else, losing 3 out of 4 at home in a playoff series is the final straw to Doc being gone! |

Ernie - "...from the Alamo City." Chuck - "That's where everybody died, at the Alamo, right? Despite a 27 point blowout......Pop was craking postgame jokes: Reporter - "Can you tell us what just happened?" Pop - "We lost. They won and played better." DOMINATION = Rockets going up 22 points 15 minutes into the game and NEVER led by less than that the rest of the game......at one point, the Rockets led by 40 points! DOMINATION = Rockets led 69-39 at Halftime......Spurs didn't score their 69th point until 10:47 minutes left in the 4th Quarter. Spurs have given up most threes in their playoff history Today, many will be yada-yada-yadaing the Rockets offense and setting the NBA playoff record with 22 3-pointers made (with Reggie Miller calling the game)......but the Rockets held the Spurs to 37% shooting for the game. Every Rocket scored: COMPLETELY SHUTDOWN = LaMarcus Aldridge was a minus-36 in 25 minutes: IMPORTANT to remember = as much of a slaughter as that was......last year, Houston won Game One vs OKC by 31 and every other game was competitive......this will be a series! |

As everyone expected, The Spurs bounced back in the 2nd Game in San Antonio. Simply put, the Rockets 3 ball just wasn't falling like it was in Game 1. The Spurs slowed it down to a speed they were comfortable with. Harden 3-16......missed 13 shots = Popovich put Kawhi on Harden because he's his best defender. "It's not rocket science." pun unintentional??? Harden asked about the challenge that facing Leonard defensively poses for him - Harden shakes his head & says, "I just missed layups" Harden had a bunch of assists, but all of his pass looks were to the rim, Spurs collapsed and he didn’t make them pay for it kicking out. D'Antoni said Harden tweaked a hip, but said it was not an issue. "He's fine." "The hustle game was the difference, offensive rebounds, loose balls. We didn't get as many stops as we needed," Ryan Anderson. Leonard helping out way more off the corner than in Game 1 However, one of the postseason GREATS suffered a season (possible career) ending injury: Manu said even after he spoke with Tony, he still couldn't put weight on the leg. Pop on Parker's injury: "It's not good." Game 3 TONIGHT in Houston |

Rockets looked pathetic at home in Game 3. Harden played selfish and wasn't all that involved. PROPS to Pop for having the Spurs slow it down......how slow? Games 2 & 3 were the first time this season (regular or post) that the Rockets were held to fewer than 100 points in B2B games. It's going to be a short series if the Refs don't call Kawhi pushing off when he generates space to get his shot off: Game 4 in a couple of hours. |

Cavs SWEEP Raptors......have yet to lose a game this Post Season.
LeBron James has a 23-2 career record when his team goes up by 10 or more at any points in potential series clinching games......playing 46 minutes. There was plenty of Lebitch crying: FIVE of the worst minutes Lebron has ever played were today in the 4th Of course, some serious MONSTER D was being played against Lebron Toronto gave up 2017 1st rounder, two 2nd rounders, & Terrence Ross to get Ibaka and Tucker who both could leave this summer after getting swept = OUCH! Kyle Lowry on if he's was going to play today: "Nope" = may NEVE suit up for Toronto again......hard to offer a guy turning 32 the 5th year max deal. |
