He's working hard but you can see he's not got the pace anymore. He has to be close to retiring now.

If Real end up lifting the trophy they'll be the most underwhelming champions in a long long time.

Quite honestly from what I've seen tonight, I' think there's more chance of Roma getting past Liverpool next week, than Bayern beating Real. And I don't reckon Real at all. |

today was just fucking ill fortune. or spanish witchcraft maybe. but whatever. that was not in the original plans. very unlucky. due to a lack of true winger kimmich filled in for robben, 2 creative midfielders overlapped in james and thiago, mueller and lewandowski were also tripping with each other, and it was just a collapse and disarray in the attack. kimmich's goal was part a result of him filling in that spot but also he's not robben. so... not the same. assuming... a suitable team can be assemble for the next date... bayern has a chance. long odds for sure but they do. and yes, in the bernabeu and all. that used to be osram's office. but i haven't yet read the injury reports so im commenting blind here ha ha ha. |

ok. this is not encouraging
https://www.bavarianfootballworks.co...-munich-injury looks like boa’s injury could go into the summer with boateng out, alaba also not sure, defense looks like a lamb to slaughter. plus javi martinez is also a crucial link. but he could be okay... this is from before the game https://www.bavarianfootballworks.co...oretin-tolisso |

Both teams underachieved last night and Real certainly don't look unbeatable. I just think they're going into the 2nd leg at home with a 2 away-goal advantage and a history of getting the job done is difficult for any opponent, least of all one with Bayern's problems. Their big chance was last night and they blew it, even if a large part of that was down to bad luck. But I watched a replay of their Sevilla games and they were very lucky to get past them so, if anything, I think they're lucky to have gotten as far as they have. This clearly isn't a vintage Bayern side. It isn't a vintage Real one, either, but (as we know) Real are Real. You're right though, it certainly isn't impossible but it would realistically involve Bayern keeping a clean sheet at the Bernabeu while having to pour forward looking for at least 2 goals. I just can't see it. |

Yeah, it's a single game now. Literally anything can happen and we've already seen teams achieve the supposedly impossible. Just don't bet the family silver on it.
In terms of the tournament as a whole, I think it's a shame that Liverpool and Man C were tied together as I'd have backed them both to beat this current Bayern and Real. But even as it is, and assuming Liverpool get past Roma, on the day of the final they could slip up too, even against a team (ie Bayern or Real) I consider far inferior. We've seen it countless times before. A couple of months ago Liverpool were beaten by literally the bottom team in the Prem. Even West Ham managed to scrape a draw with them. It's part of what makes football such an intriguing sport. |

pure madness. Liverpool vs Madrid is the perfect final. I hope Salah and Mane shag Ramos and co, whilst Firminho quietly goes about his business as usual

Salah, Mane and Firmino are the most effective strike force I've seen this season. And agree that Firmino's been quietly working wonders. All the accolades are going to Salah but Firmino seems to be the oil that keeps the engine running so smoothly. But I still think the two best clubs in Europe right now are Liverpool and Man City.

firmino used to be at hoffenheim and was quite good but not like this
anyway... looks like bayern just beat frankfurt 4-1 with a bunch of kids. but i didn’t watch that one— got to see a very entertaining 1-1 schalke vs monchengladbach. thorgan hazard (where is his brother now?) had a great game and gladbach dominated but schalke scored on a penalty and blam. schalke hangs on to 2nd place and gladbach was... 8th? before this started. people think that bayern dominance makes the bundesliga boring but plenty of great games across the whole table. wondering if cologne is out for good. were getting beaten by freiburg earlier. |

meanwhile, at the other end of things, after Southampton just beat Bournemouth, Everton's next two games are HUGE in this relegation battle. This is HORRIBLE!
