HOLY CRAP, that album is wonderful.
It took me about 4 listens, but it just fucked my skull for good.

All I Need is the new Climbing UP The Walls.
ha ha I like this album quite a lot, I keep on posting stupid comments, though.

Yeah, it's great. I've been listening to it over and over since it came out.

Agreed. When the discbox version comes out, it will be Radiohead's 1st double album. My local paper gave the album 3 and a half out of 4 stars, and AllMusic.com gave it 4 and a half out of 5 stars, so I decided to take the plunge and download the MP3s. I have just finished listening to them, and at times I thought it was the best thing the band's done since Kid A, but now that I'd heard everything, I'm a little disappointed...not disappointed as in I didn't/don't like it, just in that it might be just a bit over-hyped. Then again, everyone says this album is better with good bass, so listening though $10 subsonically challenged computer speakers probably isn't the best way to hear this music. Not only that, but Amnesiac and Hail to the Thief had to grow on me before I really liked them, so maybe that's the way it'll be with this one too. Though I do agree with whomever said the more rockin' tracks seem a bit subdued (with the exception of "Bodysnatchers", which sounds like garage punk when compared with nearly everything the band's done this decade)... I'm preordering the discbox with my next paycheck, so it doesn't really matter. Somewhat off the subject: Why aren't Radiohead on a label now anyway? Did they leave or did the label drop them?

i was never big fan, but i always liked Radiohead. this album sounds great. some great melodies there and yes it's probably grower. on the first listen it reminded me Kid A or Tom's solo album a bit. atmospehre of the album is SO Radiohead.
wondering how they going play this album live and how it'll sound. Kid A was amazing live. I was nicely surprised when I heard it live compare to how it sounds on the album. same case probably. not really something extraordinary different (or new) from Radiohead, but it's all good. great album, great listen. |

I think it's quite good, but still not as good as Kid A.

15 Step is obviously a reference to the Greater Perfect System of the ancient Greeks.

Or maybe it has something to do with the fact that the song is in 5--it could go either way.

Well, I got it yesterday.
It's not very good, is it? Maybe it's a "grower", maybe I'll REALLY dig it soon, and I can't deny it's got some good parts and moments of good musicality. But man, it's just the same old shit. Pretty boring if you ask me. Also, hilariously, the music in the second track reminds me of if Radiohead did a Queens of the Stone Age cover. But yeah. I'd say it's probably.. hmm.. it's just above Pablo Honey in my book as far as their album rankings go. It's not BAD, just.. underwhelming.. yeah. |

"Weird fishes / Arpeggi" is my fav at the moment. Gets some awesome momentum going. love the breakdown and singing at the end.
One of the guys at Atease did a mashup of it with the Ether Festival version from 2005. It sounds amazing. He did a pretty fair job synching it up considering ones faster than the other and pitch is slightly different: "Weird Fishes / Arpeggi" Album-Ether mix |

Listened it once... and I don't have a feeling that I should do it again.
