I really like Bossanova. I think it's one of their two best.

Bossanova is one of their worst. But that doesn't matter. Because the worst Pixies album is still a fucking GREAT album. Seriuosly. THey're that amazing. Anyway, Bossa is awesome -- it has "The Happening"!!

Each Pixies record is awesome, but Bossanova is I think their worst. Stormy Weather is one of their worst songs, and some of the stuff, while not bad, just isn't as great as the stuff off their other albums.
Still a great record, though. ~Jeremy~

The Pixies are a band I've never been able to get into. I tried with all their albums and I quite liked the odd song, but nothing beyond that. One of those thing I suppose.

Ditto. I can listen to them and see how they were/are largely influential (even on a few artists I personally dig)...but aside that I've always felt as if they were one of the most over-rated bands out there. Something too safe about their music. There are a few songs, but most of it seems to drag on in the same exact direction. I feel almost the same way about Dinosaur Jr.

They came along at a time when there were far too many other, far more interesting bands around for me to really bother getting hung up on them. The same year that Come on Pilgrim came out, Pussy Galore had released Right Now and Sugarshit Sharp and the Butthole Surfers had Locust Abortion Technician. They were major game changers for me. The Pixies weren't even in the equation as far as I was concerned.

I just like this record. I never had strong feelings towards them. They seemed like a chillax band when I first heard them, kim deal is cool, that's all there is to it.

Agree w/ the Kim part. She always looks so happy to be onstage playing her bass + singing. Still though, this isn't enough for me to enjoy their music...'Least not enough of it to consider myself a fan. Franksadick. @ Demonrail...that's where I'm at (in more or less words). There isn't enough in their music to challenge me the way the Buttholes or the Youth or PG or the Stooges have.

The Breeders were pretty awesome the one time I saw them live. They filled the whole place with the sort of electricity you expect from a night out.

I find the Breeders to be a bit more tolerable, even though I don't own anything by them. Just vaguely reminds me of some of the girly pop stuff my mom would listen to when I was growing up.
Saw the Pixies once...I left a few songs in. Terrible. I wasn't there to see them anyways so all was well. Come to think of it, I did used to own Pod on cassette.

Yeah, Kim Deal is great. Shame she got stuck in a band that looked like extras from an episode of Friends.

The music of the Pixies has aged horribly.
