Beggars Banquet defenitely.
Right after come Let it Bleed, Between the Buttons, Sticky Fingers and Exile. This was their greatest period, thou I like most of their albums a lot. I was suspicious the Decca-collection "Metamorphosis". I have seen it, but I havenīt got guts to buy it, because I thought it could be bad. Then i borrowed it from the library and it turned out much better than I thought, some songs are as classic as those in "Beggars". |

Yes, Exile, and I'm not saying that because of the re-release bandwagon. It just....fuckin.....grooves and flows, Man. Here the Stones just relaxed, didn't try and make a Grand Statement, and the result was otherworldly. Mick insists that it's shit today, so that should tell you all you need to know.

That IS a fuckin great song innit, and actually, kind of in the Exile vein. The Stones were at their best when they didn't try too hard. Fuck you Mick, just relax for once, and I might be able to watch/listen to you again. Something in me still hopes that they make ONE more record, and it's great, and 2012 is a happy 50th anniv. But, sigh......

i sorta agree with kim deal on this on this one
She says, "I heard the last Rolling Stones record was good. The thing is I don't even care if it's the best thing they've ever done, I just wouldn't listen to it. And it's not anything that they're doing wrong. As a listener, I don't want to hear about it." beggars thru exile, you can't fuck with any of it, after that, i like some girls and they have a few songs here and there but c'mon its over. on a side note, anybody pick up keith's new autobiography? |

what the main dfference between Kim Deal and the Rolling Stones? About 500 million dollars. Keith's autobio looks like essential reading. |

Maybe youīre right. Bigger Bang is ok album, but in that album thereīs kind of feeling that "new power" of Bridges to Babylon and Voodoo Lounge is gone. And Keith Richards looks and acts like a demented man in Shine a Light -movie. Maybe it would be better if they didnīt make any albums or concerts anymore because I think the end of Rolling Stones will be much more elegant if they donīt do anything anymore. |
