Funny. Yeah, I'm old enough to have "Nirvana stories." One of my faves: I was seeing these Melvins posters around town, when I lived in Salt Lake City around 1989, advertising a show at a club in town. I knew who the Melvins were, had one of their albums. In smaller type below the Melvins ad was something about the opening act: Nirvana. I went into the record store and asked who Nirvana was. He said, "Aw, one of those grunge bands from Seattle on SubPop. The kids are all going to see the Melvins, though." |

So, guess what. Bleach was gone! Imagine my disappointment. But imagine my surprise when I see all these other cool reissues. I ended up buying a MONO reissue of VU & Nico. This makes like the 5th copy of that album I own. And my first ever copy of the Dead Kennedys' Fresh Fruit..., a 180gm reissue with a double-sided poster!
I'm seriously thinking of going back to pick up two more things, a reissue of Blank Generation (on colored vinyl!) and the third VU LP. |

Top of my "keep an eye out" list at the moment is the Dalek/Faust collaboration from a year or so ago.

5th Copy!? Geeze, you must really like it. Fresh Fruit is my favorite Kennedy's album. I love that echo ridden guitar tone. Does it have the In God We Trust, Inc. EP on it? |

yeah, it's one of my top faves. I'm a sucker for different versions of the same album, if it's a favorite. Three copies of the White Album, for instance, because one is white vinyl.
VU & Nico, I have a cheesy German-Polydor LP copy (my first copy, purchased when I was overseas). An early 1990s-era CD. A stereo gatefold reissue. A stereo gatefold reissue on yellow vinyl. And now this, the mono version. If they come out with a mono on yellow, I'm sure that'll be next. & no, no EP sides with the Fresh Fruit reissue. Looks like it's just the straight LP. Thinking about hanging the poster in my office, but I have to check it over and see if it passes office "offensive language/images" standards. |
