Here, this is something Pitchfork posted from a summary of XXX-heyI'magoddamnfuckingwadofshit's ex-girlfriend's deposition... Even if 75% of this is total horseshit, the guy still needs to go away. You don't get to do any of these things and have your "art" evaluated objectively. Fuck him. He belongs in prison.

He is far from a good artist, either way. His 20 minute "album" was rushed, redundant and gimmicky. |

Plus, y'know, the torture, kidnapping and imprisonment, battery, death threats, psychotic paranoia, beating a pregnant woman, and so on. Oh, and home invasion, armed robbery, battery, etc. His album could be fucking Highway 61 Revisited and I still wouldn't give a shit about his music. Pathetic, sickening excuse for a man-boy. |

Glad to hear it. lol. Actually, some of my friends were fawning over him briefly on Facebook a few months ago, so I have definitely heard his stuff before. I remember feeling like there was something dark and Morrissey- or Lana Del Rey-esque about it. Maybe a bit of pop subversion going on, what with the über darkness and whatnot, least in the track I'm thinking of. But in general, I found nothing about it particularly inviting or appealing about it. Sounded pretty basic. Nuts and bolts post-Gucci street hip hop. Nothing special going on. It's insane, but have you noticed there's been a bit of a kickback at Kendrick lately? Like, he got too big and now he has these horses of haters. Anyway, one friend of a friend said something like, "I can't believe people think Kendrick's the best when this kid's out there making real hip-hop." Laughable. I'd rather listen to Kendrick Lamar fart in his sleep or fap it to pictures of my girlfriend than spend a single penny on this little bitchass motherfucker. |

He had a stupid fucking line that went "nobody wants death / 'cause nobody wants life to end", which as soon as I noticed, made me feel like deleting the tape and never listening to it again. His fans credit him for being "versatile", but the truth is he just attempts a lot of different genres and he's no more than average at all of them. Yeah that is dumb, Kendrick is still far ahead of his competition. |

Well, his fans are high school kids. And a few mislead knuckleheads like my friend's dumb friend. DAMN. is still the hottest goddamn rap album of the year by miles. 4:44 may be more fun, but DAMN. is... Jesus ... harrowing. No contest. And if Kendrick had Hov beat, he certainly had this little whiny goth bitch beat. |

Those new artists in general and that includes Lil Uzi and Kodak Black, to be more specific, need to learn a thing or two about quality control. Dividing the amount of tracks on their recent projects by about half would've made them listenable. In 2017, I'm not trying to sit through an album of 16+ songs from any rapper except Kanye and Kendrick. Yep, 4:44 is the most enjoyable, DAMN. is the best. |

I like Uzi better than Yachti, but I still think the scene is dry as fuck. Migos are fools. The best rappers and most inventive artists in the hip-hop genre are all old hats at this point: Kanye, Danny Brown, Kendrick Push, Frank, Hov... but we've been over that. I still think A$AP Rocky has a shot at long term success, but he needs to get inspired or something. ALLA was only half good. The good songs were really good but the meh ones were super meh. I think Young Thug's time is just about over. Which is silly. Rap needs to evolve. The newer scenes and styles aren't very compelling. A wake up call is needed for the younger folks, says I. |

Hell, what am I saying. Even Rocky's old hat at this point. And that most recent Mob tape didn't do much for me. Too bad.
CANNOT WAIT until Pusha drops King Push... 100% Kanye-produced from top to bottom. Kanye and Cudi also have something cooking for Dec. 31. The term "808s 2" has been floated. It'll probably just be a single though. I hope Kanye's ok. |

I feel the same way about the hip hop establishment media insulting the new acts just because they are young, do not give a fuck about past acts, and look different than what they expect a rapper to be like.
the dipshits from Hot 97 treated Lil Yachty like he was fucking Milli Vanilli, like a fucking JOKE, even though he has been putting our great tunes repeatedly, and is just as "juvenile" as any 19-20 year old rapper from the past 35 years. Have these assholes never heard Slick Rick's Lick The Balls????? They don't know history. they want all rappers to act the same, look the same, sound the same. fucking LOSERS all. The exact same type of dismissal shit was being said about Lil Wayne 15 years ago (too weird, too ghetto, too wild, too crass), and about Tribe Called Quest (faggots, hippies, wanna be jazzbos, etc.) 30 years ago. Long Live Lil Boat.

I know it is not Hip Hop per se, but FUCK I cannot stop listening to Luke James' DRIP. https://youtu.be/zYL3HPMiOho
I played it for some friends of mine (all my age) and they dismissed it instantly with "yeah, ripping off Prince." and I went OFF. No one will say it but I will say it. Prince SUCKED SHIT for the last 25 years. HORRIBLE horrible "music. shit songs. shit lame WEAK funk-lite. horrible horrible horrible. as a musician and performing? genius. as a writer of songs? DONE FELL OFF a quarter century ago. I hate when fuckers try to dismiss young dudes by claiming they ripped off an old great. fucking weak. Prince in the past 25 years could not come up with a song so fucking funky and smooth as DRIP.(I always thought Prince's "funk") was stilted and repetitive in a non-funky way.)
