The QOTSA is a good radio recording of the 'T In the Park' festival.
About an hour or so to go.

I was never too sure about them, but I really liked 'The Lost art of Keeping a Secret', so I gave this show a listen and it converted me.

One more thing; one of the truly great cover versions of all time; the Sisters of Mercy performing 'Knocking on Heaven's Door', 1985: http://www.badongo.com/file/2414311. I'll try to upload the whole show in a day or so, but it's not great quality at times.
Does anyone have any bootlegs of the Sisters during later eras? I believe they didn't play the 'Floodland' stuff live at the time, but there must be some 'Vision Thing' gigs around.

I really recommend downloading those first 4 Company LPs (Derek Bailey related) since as far as i know these have yet to see the reissue that they deserve, and i have feeling they won't be for awhile...

Just found out a John Coltrane one, don't know if works but here it is:

Coltrane) 7:13 3 Introduction (Symphony Sid Torin) My Favorite Things (R. Rodgers-O. Hammerstein) 13:55 History: trade -> EAC -> Cool Edit -> (Left Channel -> Both) -> notch filtering (Super Narrow): 60 Hz, 120 Hz, 180 Hz -> FFT filter cut off everything above 6000 Hz -> Pitch Bender + 0.41 semitones No noise filter has been used. |

This is a good performance; of course, one cannot go wrong with anything live from this group dated '61-'63. The sound is a B- or so at best though. Also seeded recently were Coltrane at Birdland, NYC, 6/02/62 and 3/02/63, in addition to this one (2/16/62). There were two versions of 2/16/62 and the second seed sounds best. I don't mean to be a stinker, but I believe this is from the first seed. My favorite recent Coltrane one though is 11/01/63 Salle Playel, Paris; sound is A- and there is a 25-minute My Favorite Things on it that is amazing; I've never hear McCoy Tyner get as far out as he does on that particular version. |
