1969 album recorded by band also known as Die Anderen which is once again is full of excellent harmony laden psychedelic pop with lush production from Giorgio Moroder (the brains behind Donna Summer's "I Feel Love") .The band had started to experiment more on this their second album as the opening 6 minute track "Life is Your Profession" showed. The whole album is obviously influenced by the more stoned end of the Beatles. - Freak Emporium 1. Life is your profession. 2. Let it die. 3. Patricia. 4. Milkman. 5. Try to please me. 6. Pictures of my woman. 7. Linda jones. 8. Blowing in blow. bonus track : 9. Reflections of a summer. A certain number of people have made special products and/or releases for this exhibition, they won't be for sale anywhere else. In Vitro will from 21st june change and grow, products will get out, and a lot more will get in, new presentations, live-recordings and new made products of the contributors. In Vitro is now already one of the main events happening in 1984, for the first time an as complete possible view will be offered from the contemporary 'market' of independent products, a market that grows and continuously wins on importance. Everyone we know, direct or indirect, we have written to participate, some haven't answered yet, it is although never too late, we expect every day new contributions. Towards the end of the exhibition we will make a catalogue from all products which were included, and all addresses of the participants. “FAST PRODUCT” / CRASH COURSE IN SCIENCE / MASKULL / SOCRATES DRANK THE CONIUM / BRUCE MCCULLOUGH
VARIOUS ARTISTS - “FAST PRODUCT: MUTANT POP 78/79″ (1980) This compilation of late ’70s singles on the Scottish record label Fast Product, put together for the U.S. market by the PVC label, is notable not just because it features a handful of early Gang of Four recordings, but because it simply is a great record all the way through. Here, The Human League’s “Being Boiled” is much more subdued and pleasantly not as bombastic as the version that appears on their “Travelogue” LP, The Flowers are a great girl band on par with the Au Pairs, Scars have some great basslines, 2.3’s jangly jangles are crisp, and the Mekons’ single “Where Were You” never gets old, even after a dozen consecutive listens. Regarding the “mutant pop” concept, Wikipedia sez: “Fast Product also produced ’subversive commodities’ that problematised pop music (hence their early monikkers - ‘difficult fun’ and ‘mutant pop’) and politicised their youthful buyers into a consciousness of taking control of the means of expression, getting confident and reappropriating the means of production. Often packaging their ‘products’ with a caustic yet subtle sideswipe at consumerism (the image of a wall of gold disks on the cover of the Mekons first single etc), Fast Product showed how all aspects of the record business, from musicianship to design to distribution, could be taken out of the hands of the major labels.” Various Artists - “Fast Product: Mutant Pop 78/79″ LP (ZIP file) http://www.eggcityradio.com/?p=54 |

Psychic Space Invasion - All God's Children Got Space
Recorded and released in 2006 All God's Children is an uncompromising assertion of Ian's love of pure drone. Created entirely on a keyboard played through a couple of pedals and using only the bare minimum of notes this a swirly vortex of sound. Probably not to everyones taste but definitely to mine. this is from Touching Extremes 'Ian Holloway/Psychic Space Invasion has created a minor masterpiece of static minimalism which you'd be silly not to grab, especially considering that all Elvis Coffee's releases come in limited editions of 50 to 75 copies and are sent in exchange of postal costs only. All evolves from a fixed organ chord which somehow recalls Charlemagne Palestine's synthesizer pieces circa "Four manifestations on six elements", all oscillating harmonics and undulating frequencies which truly free the mind from extraneous thoughts and tense interferences. Halfway through the CD, slightly contrasting currents generated by different chords and a few minutes of flanger-like treatment of the sound move the music a little bit while remaining coherent to the grand scheme of things. At the end, everything returns to the initial flux, a quasi-immobile procession of elongated reflections whose conclusion finds us relaxed, almost intoxicated, our heartbeat slowed down of several notches. Warmly recommended.' All God's Children Got Space http://museumofimaginaryhistories.blogspot.com/ |

Sonic Boom: The Art of Sound
Sonic Boom was an exhibition of sound art curated by musician and writer David Toop that ran at the Hayward Gallery in London in 2000. Accompanying the exhibition was a cracking little book about the artists alongside a double cd featuring work by those featured. The exhibition was a fascinating achievement and the book was a diverting read but it's the cds that keep drawing me back. Showcasing work by Scanner, Lee Ranaldo, Pan Sonic, Christian Marclay, Philip Jeck, Brian Eno and a whole host more (see here for the complete tracklist) it is a fine release deserving of far more attention that it ever got without being released in it's own right. C.C.C.C. - Amplified Crystal
No this is not the cover of the ablum. I didn't manage to find the cover of the album, sadly, so I took a screenshot from one of their live performances. Dosen't matter anyway right? Amplified Crystal is one of their 12'' vinyls and is limited to 500 copies if I'm not mistaken. Excelent C.C.C.C. stuff right here be sure to download it! Merzbow - Flare Gun Vinyl, 12", Limited Edition to 479 copies. Recorded and mixed at ZSF Produkt Studio, June 1994. Part 3 recorded live at "Sound as Weapon", SHOWBOAT, Tokyo, July 5 1994. The A Side of this record spins at 45 RPM, while the B Side spins at 33 1/3 RPM. Contains 3 long parts. Very good release. Recommended! Merzbow - Green Wheels So another Merzbow release. This was named after of a sustainable transportation advocacy project in Northern California. With this release comes also a 5'' vinyl with two tracks that Drago found so a big thanks to him for finding it! Ain Soph - 1984 - I So one day (yesterday actually) I thought, "why not put some nice and rare ambient stuff to make some refreshment after last noisy month?". Well here's the respond for my question, Ain Soph! Ain Soph arose in Rome in the early 1980's, composing disturbing industrial-ambient soundtracks for their esotheric rituals. The music of their first tape releases is dark, frightening and evocative. In 1988 they released their first LP, the masterpiece "Kshatriya", blending neoclassical arrengements, noise and experimental sounds. At the beginning of the 1990's, Ain Soph radically changed direction, first releasing a collection of sacral-hymn songs, then exploring traditional folk music and psychedelic hard rock. I heard some of their newer stuff and it was not so good from my point of view, ofcourse some people like it but I don't. That's why I bring you their very frist tape! An excelent dark ambient tape that has 4 parts (in this rip version all songs are in one track) with some obvious industrial influences. Enjoy! http://terrornoiseaudio.blogspot.com |

Solmania - Psycledelic
Solmania is a project of a guy called Masahiko Ohno. Famous for his home made contraptions and guitars. This is his second album and is fairly good. It's pretty much harsh all the time with screams and everything and an ocassional guitar riff comes by too. The last song is much calmer and far more dronienig and sometimes sounds like complete madness. Anyway, on to the songs. Tracklist: 1. Psycledelic (7:31) 2. Nitro Mary & High-Side Blues (4:56) 3. MERZBOW - MERZBOX
http://forum.gabber.od.ua/viewtopic.php?id=627 http://www.discogs.com/release/100630 Fifty CDs is a lot of music for any one artist to release. To release them all at once, in a boxed set, is quite extraordinary. The MERZBOX is just such a release. The MERZBOX also includes a book, CD-ROM, medallion, T-shirt, poster, postcards and stickers and is encased in a custom designed box with metal name plate. If that isn't enough to make you gasp, the 50 CDs in question are Noise music by Japan's premier Noise musician MERZBOW. Not rock, not dance, not country and western but Noise. This event is unprecedented, even in the history of collector's series of classical music. MERZBOX is the definitive collection of recorded MERZBOW works, spanning the years from 1979 to 1997. Any less than 50 CDs would not have done justice to the scope and ingenuity of MERZBOW's musical manifesto. All of these CDs will only be available in the MERZBOX. Masami Akita, the mastermind and musician behind MERZBOW, is also a talented visual artist and writer. Akita has written numerous books, directed videos and produced artwork for nearly all of the MERZBOW releases. He has accomplished in under 20 years what would take a lesser artist many lifetimes to achieve. Thirty of the titles were painstakingly selected from the MERZBOW archives. A further 20 previously unreleased titles, also recorded throughout the extensive history of MERZBOW, have been included in this musical document. All of the titles show the diversity and development of MERZBOW's Noise music. "Sound work is an accumulation of pleasure, and the desire for pleasure is endless. Maybe the motivation of MERZBOW is to build a Pleasuredome of Noise - to increase power and difference," explains Masami Akita. The Boxed Set includes the complete biography of MERZBOW, a book of over 100 pages written by music author Brett Woodward. One of the features of the book is testimonials from musicians who have been inspired by MERZBOW: Jim O'Rourke, Damion Romero, Achim Wollscheid and Eugene Thacker. In addition, Seymour Glass, editor of Bananafish, contributes a resounding endorsement of MERZBOW's talent. The book incorporates over 100 full colour images by MERZBOW. The CD-ROM, also part of the MERZBOX, was created by notorious Melbourne multi-media designer Troy Innocent. It serves as both a document and an interactive journey into chaos. The CD-ROM includes bonus video footage, images and sound works. A commemorative bronze medallion, by Melbourne artisan Marcus Davidson, is included in this limited edition Boxed Set. A poster, T-shirt, stickers and postcards featuring MERZBOW artwork complete the collector's edition. The 50 CDs are enclosed in a unique black rubber case, all of this encased in a custom designed box with metal name plate. The set is to be produced as a limited edition of 1000, a part of Extreme's tenth anniversary celebrations. Welcome to the Pleasuredome of Noise. * MERZDISCS - Fifty CDs providing as many hours of MERZBOW Noise music. The collection spans from 1979 to 1997, 18 years of sonic decomposition. Many of the titles were only available as cassettes and have long since been deleted. Five LPs and a CD, which were originally released in limited numbers and have since been deleted, are now reissued in the MERZBOX. Also included are 20 releases that have previously never been released. All CDs have four colour CD labels, featuring new MERZBOW artwork. All CDs are exclusive to the MERZBOX. * MERZBOOK - Music author Brett Woodward has written the biography of MERZBOW and how Masami Akita came to do what he does and why he continues to explore the realms of Noise music with such vigour. Various musicians and devotees of MERZBOW, Achim Wollscheid, Jim O'Rourke and Damion Romero, have written about their favourite noise musician. Techno-theorist Eugene Thacker provides a text on the relationship between MERZBOW and eroticism. Jonathan Walker contributes to the book with a written piece once included with the "Collaborative LP". Each album in the MERZBOX is reviewed by writer Brett Woodward and Masami Akita provides explanatory liner notes. All of this in a full colour book with over 100 pages and illustrations. * MERZROM - An interactive multimedia CD-ROM designed by Troy Innocent. It includes additional images, music and video footage that provide a kinetic document of MERZBOW. The MERZROM is both a document and a chaotic device that provides a parallel to the music of MERZBOW. The CD-ROM is both MAC and PC compatible. * MERZDALLION - Jeweller Marcus Davidson reinterprets primitive MERZBOW collage artwork on this commemorative medallion. The bronze medallion is two-sided and cryovac packed. * MERZSHIRT - A T-shirt featuring the artwork that MERZBOW has become infamous for. The black T-shirt is large, long sleeve and made from 100% cotton. * MERZCARDS - A series of postcards that capture the mail art aesthetic that was critical to the early years of MERZBOW. * MERZSTICKERS - Two stickers with all new MERZBOW full colour artwork. * MERZPOSTER - A large gloss poster that gives meaning to the term "lowest arts". * MERZCASE - A 'fetish-rubber' case manufactured specifically to contain all of the CDs, MERZROM, MERZDALLION, MERZCARDS and MERZSTICKERS. The MERZCASE allows for complete portability of the CDs. * MERZPACK - A custom designed hand made box to house all of the collection. It is complete with a photo etched metal name plate on the spine of the box. The attention to detail and design that is inherent with the MERZBOX can be attributed to the outstanding work of Extreme's own Art Director, Doriana Corda. It is something that needs to be experienced as much as listened to. -Extreme. Feel Like Buying go to Code: http://www.xtr.com/catalog/xltd-003.php |

Terrorizer- Unreleased Demo from 1987
Terrorizer was a band formed in 1986 in Los Angeles, California, United States. Terrorizer is considered to be a seminal band in the grindcore and death metal subgenres. After disbanding, its members gained recognition as members of other influential extreme metal bands, such as Morbid Angel (David Vincent, Pete Sandoval) and Napalm Death (Jesse Pintado). http://www.mediafire.com/?4q232p5rmoj http://seeeingred.blogspot.com/2008/...from-1987.html |

Back From Vacation
New Sounds In Electronic Music Back in the saddle again..... Disappearance due to deaths, illnesses, parties, syphilis, etc. Here's a rare little biscuit offered as a hi how ya doin'. Known best, if at all, for being the source of the NWW referenced Steve Reich track, this is an early electronic music compilation. 1967 was the year electronic music broke. Moog synthesizers allowed the bleeps and blorps to come out of the academic labs and hit the major labels. So I guess this here is a last gasp of the old order. Track one is Night Music by Richard Maxfield. To me, it's the least satisfying of what's here. Meant to mimic the noises of the insect kingdom in Central Park, and it sounds like it. This stuff was fast becoming obsolete by the time this record hit the racks. Track three is Pauline Oliveros' piece I of IV. I kinda dig this one - it's sort of atmospheric in a way this stuff usually isn't. Still, I think I'd enjoy it twice as much at half the length. It's a bit of an endurance contest, this one. The reason why you'll want this is track two - Steve Reich's Come Out. This is one of my all-time favorites of the genre. A forward thinking piece that sounds as modern today as it must have when it came out. The piece starts with a kid in a NY jail telling the story of how he had to squeeze blood out of a wound to get medical care after a riot. A topical piece, then. Reich takes that simple bit of audio, repeating it just to the point of irritation, then pulling it slowly out of phase, watching the voices build into a chorus of phrases. Then, about 7 or 8 minutes in, it surges into a prime electronic psychedelic wash. Deep and rich white noise. This is the kind of thing Lou Reed was going for with MMM, but with nowhere near the subtlety. No matter how many times I listen to this, that surge as the voices shift to phased noise gets me every time. Check it out. http://sharebee.com/73b38858 http://invisiblerecordarchive.blogspot.com/ |
