I know... I'm a sucker for making lists...
I just can't help it. I think it's an illness!. So far I've managed to avoid the Favourite songs of all time thread by the skin of my teeth... but I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to last...

the single BEST opening act I ever saw with Sonic Youth was PAVEMENT around 1991, slanted and enchanted era. fucking amazing. original drummer. beautiful chaotic shambles of rock.

Be your own pet were pretty good at Center Stage 6/06, but the best opening band had to be Jesus Lizard at Center Stage 11/90 for Goo. They were awesome. It was the first time I saw SY. During the break the mushrooms started to kick in so i don't remember much of the show, but it must have left an impression because I've seen them every time they've come thru Atlanta except for Murray Street.

Yeah it was in London on the Goodbye Twentieth Century tour and it was fucking amazing. The lineup consisted of Glenn on his famous joined at the head guitar, his wife on guitar and a drummer... minimal massiveness.

If anyone saw the Goo tour...STP were a female rock machine featuring Julie from Pussy Galore. They kicked serious ass each time I saw 'em.And the early Blues Explosion on the Dirty tour didn't suck either.
