http://www.ubu.com/film/joyce_wake.html
can't believe they actually filmed finnegans wake. only passages from it, not the whole thing, but still. it is one of the hardest books of all time to even READ, let alone film. what's interesting about it is that when i read it now i find what seem to be irish slang words that have only come into use recently, i would be very surprised if they were in use back when joyce was writing it. |

i was wondering ... is it okay to download stuff from ubuweb and use it for sample purpose? Since they're up there for free download, there's most likely no problem with that. I was been browsing this site yesterday and found tons of great sounds that I'd like to use in my music.

Yeah you can, slavo. It's in their faq, I think. They don't get permission, so why should you, basically.

I finally got the Keen collection and it's the best experimental stuff ever made.
UBU has removed a LOT of great videos. So, if you see something you like, DOWNLOAD IT ASAP. My heart broke when they removed some of the rare Godard, as well as L'Ange. The best stuff on the site is the Japanese new wave stuff. Toshio Matsumoto and Shuji Terayama in particular are my two favorite directors of all time. |
