the new wu tang is actually good. before i got it i listened to samples of it and thought it was not so good but i bought it anyway.
ive been listening to the wu tang for awhile now and love all of the offshoots that rza produced too tho the cd the wu was pretty weak. i gave the new one a chance and it has really grown on me. it is a little different with lots of guitars (fucking john frusciante!) and a kind or mariachi beat with no bass! good shit. the interpolation... of the beatles is total crap tho. always skip that one but the rest is pretty solid. dr dre is pretty cool. so far he has made the only beat in hip hop history that i know of that used micro tones. very cool. |

I don't want any of these things in my rap music
NO sing along choruses. RHYME motherfuckers, I don;t want to hear no one singing! mumble mouth shit. pronounce your words people. doo doo wack rhymes. if you cannot read at higher than a twelfth grade level then you should not be writing rhymes. skits, no fucking skits. I hated them when prince paul was shoving them down my throat and I hate them now.

this is what i don't want: "like this, y'all. like that, y'all." all that shit is played. i'm tired of talking about how great hip hop was back in the day (i'm looking at you, j5). dudes who have great wordplay, but no flow. i'd rather listen to a good flow with silly ass words, than some cat who can rhyme 14 different things with orange, all off beat. lupe fiasco. he started listening to rap a couple years ago, now people think he's hip hop's savior. his production is whack and so are his rhymes. songs that rhyme "party" and "bacardi." yeah, i like to party sometimes. yeah, when i do, i usually drink rum. why not switch it up? sip bacardi at the jean luc picarty. and more fucking skits. i love skits. they were the best part of albums when i was growing up. especially on "enter the 36 chambers" and "doggystyle" and "the chronic" and all that shit.

In February 1998, [Ol' Dirty] Bastard witnessed a car accident from the window of his Brooklyn recording studio. He and a friend ran to the accident scene and organized about a dozen onlookers who assisted in lifting the 1996 Ford Mustang—rescuing a 4-year-old girl from the wreckage. She was taken to a hospital with second and third degree burns. Using a false name, Bastard visited the girl in the hospital frequently until he was spotted by members of the media

i though pharrell's production (and i seriously found out WAY later that pharell produced hell hath...) is too smooth and without any personality, i really though it was a chore to listen to the whole album. have you heard 3 6's mystic stylez? now those are lyrics! later, when they dropped the satanic/serial killer rhymes, became about the beats, no question about it. anybody else into cage here? |

i love it when rappers sing because they're all terrible, listening to ghostface or biggie sing is hilarious because they know they sound horrible but they do it anyway

both of his solo albums are great, but i may be in the minority when i say "movies for the blind" was better. i guess it depends on whether you prefer drugged-out cage or contemplative cage. the fact he succeeded so well in two different styles is testament to his skill.
