i wrote this in a rush and i dont think in english, sometimes i'll use unusual expressions.
i was asking for british bands that are relevant (adj. relevant, important, significant, consequential, prominent) to yourself. |

The only one that I seriously care that much is Coil. There are other great ones, of course, but Coil are the only important British band for me.

If you did your indie thang then I'd reccomend anything from the british branch of Domino, particularly Clinic and The Archie Bronson Outfit, I beleive they're still pretty unknown across the pond, and...... here, too.
However, if seminal UK 80s post-punk is more to your tastes, of course Public Image Ltd (check out Jah Wobble's solo stuff aswell) and the Jesus and Mary Chain, though I imagine you already know them. Early 90s shoegaze: Chapterhouse, Ride, Slowdive, Bleach and yes, of course My Bloody Valentine. Debbie Googe of MBV, everybodies favourite lesbian cab driver, had a band called Snowpony, worth a try. Keeping with the experimental theme, but in electronics, you might enjoy early ectro pioneers Cabaret Voltaire and the first embodiment of the Human League. To top it all off, Syd Barrett's Pink Floyd and solo work, and the mighty mighty Primal Scream. ...some food for thought there |

Oh I forgot the best of UK Hip Hop, Roots Manuva, Dizzee Rascal, Massive Attack, Tricky, Aim, Nightmares on Wax to name a few. Not sure how many folks listen to hip hop here, but it's Sonic Youth approved, so wahey!

You probably saw me and though I was more likely to like Genesis. (That's a reference to my age, by the way, not a confession that I look like a hippy)
