Really? I can understand why you'd be surprised, Mr Bungle are easily the shittest thing I can think of since I had my Beatles/ Zappa blocking-chip put in my head. The records I have of theirs are kind of super-sludgy non-tuned guitars, drawled vocals... they've got this strange jazz arrangements thing going on, can get quite heavy in places. But certainly nothing like the wank-fest that Mr Bungle are, to my ears.

when i saw them they were doing that thing some bands do where they try and play as many styles of music in as short a time possible, possible.

That surprises me. I suppose they did have a time signature change thing going on, maybe they've pursued that in recent years. Shame.

My favorite band on the comp is Teenage Jesus & The Jerks. However, my favorite song on the comp is probably "Helen Fordsdale" by Mars. Now if Theoretical Girls were on this, then yeah, I would pick them. Cool of you to mention their absence. Thanks to the person who originally shared this compilation with me; I'm sorry that I forget who you are. I was listening to KUKL - The Eye (Crass Records, 1984) the other day, and it's some form of Icelandic homegrown no wave.

KUKL. Yes. They are very good, no? I think so.
Those of you who like him may be interested to know that David Bowie picked a Mars song, possible 11,000 volts, for his Desert Island Discs.
