How's God's Balls? There's a used copy for 4 bucks in the store around the corner. You have to try some Captain: Trout Mask Replica (a trip!--be open-minded); Lick My Decals...; Doc at the Radar Station. I'd recommend those three first.

"Electrip" by Xhol Caravan is fucking awesome.
They are definitely prog, but in a very good way. No guitars. Drums, organ, bass, two saxophones (sometimes flute instead of one of the saxes). Great FX on one of the horns, giving it some crazy sounds. Excellent stuff, not too wanky but definitely jazz-influenced. The DVD that was released recently is very good as well. Not the kind of configuration I would normally go for, but this band really does it right. They walked the tightrope and came out unscathed on the other side. |

There are some albums whose covers completely put me off. Mates of State looks so "indie" & "emo" that I shudder whenever I see it. I have no idea what it sounds like.

I have very little idea what the Stooges sound like on anything else but Fun House.
I keep waiting for their other things to show up in the vinyl racks, but they never do. Dammit. but when they do, I will snatch them up.

Mates of state are so bad,i don't know why people bother wasting money on their records. The fact that they've had the cheek to cover Nico's 'these days' is sacrilegious enough to make me want to stick pins into a doll shaped like their idiotic selves.

I can almost tell anymore from checking out the cover if an album's gonna hit me right or not... It's almost gotten instinctual...
