I've been diggin on William Parker lately myself. Just picked up Double Sunrise Over Neptune and a collaboration with Anthony Braxton and Milford Graves entitled Beyond Quantum. Both are excellent.

I also picked up Corridors & Parallels by David S. Ware (ft. Matthew Ship) and really enjoyed it. Does anyone have any recommendations where to proceed with this guy?

i wish i could recommend you tao, unfortunately the guy selling it on craigslist didn't email me back and i haven't heard it

i hope this doesn't sound stupid.. but, is this the guy that did Tank! the opening theme song for cowboy bebop?? really, i'm not an anime nerd. but i do love me some space cowboys.

and just watching it for the opening credits with that song... OOOOHH MYY. to die for.

my dad and i just got into jazz together. sort of like a father-daughter bonding experience.. and we've been listening to duke ellington, miles davis, & coltrane.

i'm not familiar with these people at all.

Although he never played 'free jazz', nobody should miss out on the late and great Andrew Hill.

Some absolute classics are out as Blue Note reissues, unfortunately not as cool as buying from a small long-terminated label, but this music is so essential.
