Sure, a lot of us go through that phase of change when we start to hit our mid or late twenties. I think that if you are feeling this way about the music, then you probably were never really into it. Creative people see the creativity in Sonic Youth and are symbiotic with it. People who are status-quo tend to become bored with the truly creative, mistaking it for just another amusing trend that they need to leave behind. You can be in love and still be creative and vibrant. Obviously you're not a musician either, because if you were, and if you were truly into the music, then there would be no question about liking it or not.
