Well, they broke up about five years before I even heard of them and six years before I became addicted to them, so I'd really love to see them. I don't care how lame the reunion idea is.
Also, I love all of their albums. BTC can be my second favorite Pavement album on some days (first will always be WZ.) |

Hopefully, they'll do an update of "Range Life", with new lyrics referencing how Smashing Pumpkins still suck and why the fuck are they releasing a new 44-SONG album?!

Wrong--the whole Pumpkins vs. Pavement joke/arguement died so long ago, it doesn't stink anymore.

Tried posting the link a minute ago, but the new moderation thing deleted it, so....
There's a new Pavement tab site out there that is excellent, and has tabs for songs I've never seen before. Here is the link: http://sites.google.com/site/pavetabs/ I also have a 1992 show if anybody is interested in it.... It features the one and only time they ever attempted Jackals from Slanted and the first ever performance of Range Life (In DADABE tuning). ~Jeremy~

I don't want the show but I am curious. Do they just stop the song half-way through and go "aww, false grails... "?

No, Gary starts up the drumbeat for a sec, then a moment later Malkmus starts playing the chords and sings it, and then for the chorus he starts to hum the melody line.
That's from what I remember, at least. ~Jeremy~

The new argument is: Which band become irrelevant faster after they broke up? |

The answer is clearly the Smashing Pumpkins. At least good bands ripped Pavement off and continued to rip them off.

Right. No one gave a fuck when Pumpkins broke up. Less people give a fuck now that they're back. Almost all their old fans hate them, etc...
There'll always be a place in my heart for Pavement. I mean they were my favorite band for about 3 months when I was 15 and I thought making out to my girlfriend while "Loretta's Scars" was playing was the best life would ever get. But... well... Actually, yeah, now that I think about it, life has probably gotten worse since then. Pavement, you were the last bright light in my life. Don't let me down this time, fuckers. |

Hahaha. I'm sure they won't. Pavement has never let us down (Sure, TT was a drop in quality, but still decent compared to most other albums), I'm really excited about this. I hope it's more than just a one off show...
PAVEMENT+COACHELLA=100000% RADNESS!!!!! ~Jeremy~ EDIT: Funny, Pavement became my favorite band a few months after I turned 15.

Yes!! Gangsters is classic. So is Give it a Day. That's a weird one bc it's not on any proper albums but released like a single.
