Weak. Someday they won't let you, now you must agree The times, they are a-telling, and the changing isn't free We've read it in the tea leaves, the tracks are on tv Beware the savage jaw of 1984 They'll split your pretty cranium, and fill it full of air They'll tell that you're eighty, but brother, you won't care You'll be shooting up on anything, tomorrow's never there Beware the savage jaw in 1984 Come see, come see, remember me? We played love all my movie roll You said it would last, but I guess we've grown In 1984, who could ask for more 1984, who could ask for mor-or-or-or-ore Mor-or-or-or-ore I'm looking for a vehicle, i'm looking for a ride I'm looking for a party, i'm looking for a side I'm looking for the treason that I knew in '65 Beware the savage jaw of 1984 Come see, come see, remember me? We played love all my movie roll You said it would last, but I guess we've grown In 1984, who could ask for more 1984, who could ask for mor-or-or-or-ore Mor-or-or-or-ore 1984 1984 1984, more 1984, 1984, more 1984 |

The Rykodisc Bowie releases have the bonus tracks, but the EMI/Virgin reissues from 1999 have improved audio quality. The bass/drums are a bit punchier and the guitars/vocals are crisper, and audio is less thinly spread in general. I'm pretty sure that Bowie himself said that the 1990 Rykodisc of ZIGGY was too thin/weak sounding.
Anyway, either release would ultimately be a worthy investment... DO NOT however choose the 30th Anniversary double disc reissues of any of the albums. They have hideous artificial sounding audio, and not only are the Left/Right channels REVERSED on the ZIGGY release, but certain sounds and cues are MISSING from the mix. It's just generally fucked up. In summary... Rykodisc reissues from 1990 have nice bonus tracks, and EMI/VIRGIN reissues from 1999 (while album only) have the best standard CD audio. Best albums IMO... HUNKY DORY LOW ZIGGY STARDUST |

Fuck yes. I'm glad to see someone else out there recognizes the brilliance of Diamond Dogs. Def. my favorite Bowie album. Not a weak track on there. (Although a lot of people hate "Rock N Roll With Me") How people can not love it is a mystery to me. |
