You're right Danny. The Dyna comp is the only red MXR pedal, and if you can look closer, you can read giga delay on the boss pedal.

I feel content now, so I'm done buying pedals for a while. My friend and I both started buying up pedals. He recently got the EH 16 Second Digital Delay and Tube Zipper which are really cool. |

The Dyna Comp works good as a boost for leads/solos and sounds cool with clean chords. My band is going to start recording some new stuff and I'll probably use it on bass a bit too.

I actually have a Crybaby wah I never use I've had for years. Sometime I'll have to clean the pot because the sweep is really scratchy.

You should get a blues driver, much more versatile than the DS-1.

Aren't Blues Drivers a mellower distortion than the DS-1?

Well, it is an overdrive that can do distortion as well as subtle boosts. I don't think you can use a DS-1 like an overdrive or a boost.

"Screens" reminds me of Polvo a little. Good work. Is this before or after the pedal board was finished?

here's my self made pedal board:
I just bought a CH1 from BOSS for a nice price and I'm gonna use it instead of the greenie phaser. the DS1 is not usually a DS1 - I'm getting my DF2 modified. so i'll take pics of the thing when I'll be done! so Chout man, how didn't you like the CH1? My buddy Matt has the Small clone and it sounds GLORIOUS, fucking SWEET to say the least. So i thoguht - Dammit I don't wanna sound like him. And I got me a used CH1. Every pedal you see here was bought for real cheap BTW. The coolest ones being the DSD2 and the DF2 of course!!! I'm proud of those Japanese fuckers!!! OH and Chout, I'd suggest you to take the power supplies far away from the pedals... they usually generate unwanted hum that close.... just a humble suggestion from a gyu who is about to end up sound school (YAY!) |

I don't know if I could justify spending that much money on noisemakers. I'd rather get a cheap pedal and bend the hell out of it. |

Nice setup Max. I really like that you have an earplug holder built in! Good idea. I may do that. As for the Boss CH1, It just wasn't 'deep' sounding enough for me. I think something was wrong with it. The Small Clone sounds better with my Rat than that one did. We cover a Husker Du song sometimes and I can sound pretty close to Mould's tone. Good luck in sound school! What will that be like? Recording techniques and stuff? |

We do In A Free Land every few gigs usually. I think there's still a live version of it on the Small White myspace below. It's kind of sloppy, we had just learned it.
We played it at our show on sunday, and while we were playing it, I realized Husker recorded the song just a few blocks away from where we were at a studio that used to be around called Blackberry Way. Lots of bands recorded there, including The Replacements. |
