why is there no option to vote 0? even 0/10 is generous as far as this record is concerned.

That's amazing; the guy goes out of his way to let everyone know he's even more negative than AssBlaster. |

I only listened to it once on the stream. But I'd say 6 or 7. I voted 7.

This record's all about it's spotlight moments. Some songs are pretty damn weak and get boring, while others feel strong and fresh. It made me think a lot about all of SY's stuff, i've probably listened to everything from the first ep through ATL like 5 times each over the past few weeks. 7?

Gee, I'm actually surprised that you didn't write that your remark was "a joke" or "sarcasm" as per the usual excuse given by people that write utterly hateful messages on this board.
You're entitled to do no so such thing. This is a Sonic Youth Fan Forum. You should explain exactly why you think it rates a zero out of ten if you write outlandish things like that on this board. Funny that you should use the word "entitled." I assert that it's precisely your attitude of entitlement that makes you such a raging, negative, angry person. You get out of life precisely what you put into it & you must earn your soul. Too many miscreants hide behind Freedom of Speech. Freedom of Speech isn't about Freedom to be an Ignoramous & no, I would never defend your right to say whatever. Screw Voltaire; he's highly overrated. |

that actually made me laugh even though you've repeated that joke a few times now.
but really, AssBlaster, a 1? Han Solo: Everything's under control. Situation normal. Intercom voice: What happened? Han Solo: Had a slight weapons malfunction, but everything's perfectly alright now. We're fine, we're all fine, here now, thank you. How are you? Intercom voice: We're sending a squad up. Han Solo: Negative, negative, we have a reactor leak here...now. Give us a few minutes to lock it down...large leak, very dangerous. Intercom voice: Who is this? What's your operating number? Han Solo: (turns his blaster on the control panel) Boring conversation anyway. |

I'll give it a 7 because most of what's wrong with it is merely a matter of taste. Quality-wise, it's still very admirable.

When they posted Reena/Incinerate on that myspace page I instantly loved Reena (my favorite track), but thought Incinerate was pretty weak....I thought wow, I hope the album is better than this. After hearing the whole thing I think Incinerate is one of my favorite tracks.....weird. Like everyone said it's def. a grower especially in comparison to the last records with Jim which (for me) I fell in love with the first listen. It just seemed to really be lacking those "magical" SY moments that are usually in abundance......whatever, I still like it.

2 things: 1) THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH KENNY ROGERS. 2) Why is everyone more than content to comment on an album that has only been out for approximately ten minutes? What are you people, hacks?

I give this post 5 out of ten. It's good, but it's a little too short for me to really get into it. Oh, and FYI - what the fuck is up with not italicising 'malaise'?

What the fuck was I talking about? I've read it more than once now, and it's fucking great!!!!. The undermining of conventional writing practice by not italicising malaise is a stroke of genius! And it's not too short at all, some sentances are faaaaar too long, like this one. The fact that it's consise just adds to its greatness! 9/10.
