i read another board get all uppity about some use of cgi in the film but from what i can tell there is very little that can actually be seen in the trailer, they are building huge sets and ford is doing his own stunts

It's going to be a totally seperate movie from the first three. It shouldn't even be put into the same catagory as them, but it will be similar still. It looks pretty good, the trailer was stupid though. The first minute is just footage of the first 3 movies. Such a dickhead move

Reasons it is going to suck:

1. The artifact is thought to be given to the aztecs by alien life
2. There will be a million jokes made about Indie's age
3. CGI

I saw the trailer, the CGI looks awful. And the three references to him being old were awful. "This isn't gonna be easy" "not as easy as it was before"

its all ready been established in the previous films that indy lives in a magical/mystical universe with lots of weird shit..aliens are not a big stretch at all

In the world of Indiana Jones they turn mythology into reality. In the world of Indiana Jones The Ark of the Covenant which is supposed to be the final resting place of the Ten Commandments is real. In "Temple of Doom" voodoo mythology is real. The idea of turning someone into a zombie (in the similar way that was told in "Serpant of the Rainbow") exists, even though we are set in India and not Haiti. In "Last Crusade" the Holy Grail exists. Again, Christian mythology. From what it sounds like they are playing with Myan and/or Aztec mythology. Just because there will be mention that perhaps the Crystal Skull is extra-teresstial created. It doesn't necessarily mean there will be little grey men in the movie.
