They remind me quite a bit more of George Herbert Walker Bush and Dan Quayle. |

McCain did not leave for washington until Thursday. Letterman said that, like McCain wanted to postpone tonight's debate, Sarah palin wanted to postpone her debate with Joe Biden until after the election. ha ha ha

the old McCain would do it.
the new whitewashed soul-selling McCain will not do anything to upset the rich powerful asshoels who run the GOP.

It's funny, when I take one of the political compass things, I always come up to the left of Gandhi, and yet I don't think the bailout is something that can possibly be avoided. Certainly, I'd like to see the CEOs booted penniless and possibly prosecuted in many cases, but letting the companies go under would create a domino effect that would plunge the whole world into a 1930s level depression. Is anybody on here ready to start growing vegetables in their yard and shooting the occasional possum to feed their family? Last I heard, everybody was pretty into collecting records and going to concerts. Guess what, those things are fed by Capitalism, and we're not going to get out easy if it all goes down. |

I agree, Dead Air. Same here. I'm so left, I should be living in 1950s Moscow and sitting in the Kremlin.
But... I don't see any other way. Because, yeah, at the same time, I still like my clothes and my nice house and my record collection and my domestic ales, and a few other creature comforts that make living in this fucked up world halfway bearable. This makes being pissed off about all this even worse, of course. In simple terms, so, we can't come up with the money for national health care for our kids. We can't pay for our kids to go to college for four years. We can't make sure that everybody has a roof over their head and food in their stomachs. No, those aren't real crises. That shit doesn't matter. This country basically sucks.
