i dont have an absolute favorite because im not an absolute self.
this morning perhaps it was one thing, now in the afternoon it is another. i don't mean to philosophize here, it's just that i have no absolute favorite. absolute when & for what. with that said, i could name a few very memorable ones: -beethovens eroica conducted by zubin mehta -sy's evol -deerhoof reveille -patti smith horses -lou reed transformer -miles davis kind of blue -coltrane giant steps + a love supreme - |

Because it's about as close to what I think the perfect rock album should sound like. A third eye opening solar anus fucking tambourine shaking motherfucker of a record. |

ill just say trout mask replica. this record (and also white light white heat, but only one right?) totally expanded upon what the idea of rock n roll music should sound like. this record paved the path for people who saw the potential for wierdness in rock music. trout mask paved the way for the residents, boredoms, sun city girls, tom smith/to live and shave in la, and any other artist out there making wierd, experimental, and extreme rock music. and besides the bullshit, the record just knocks me on my ass every time.

I can't choose just one. There are too many I like equally.

It's difficult to choose. If compilations are allowed, I will say Golden Days: When Giants Walked the Earth by the Laughing Clowns. This album is the reason why I decided to learn saxophone. The saxophone solo in Eternally Yours and melody and solo in Winter's Way are brilliant. Plus, this album is valued at about AU$40, and I managed to get it for AU$18.
If compilations aren't allowed, maybe it's one of these; Honey Steel's Gold by Ed Kuepper, Haus Der Luge by Einstuerzende Neubauten, The Blow Up by Television or Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth. It all depends on the phase I'm going through.

Mine's EVOL. Simply because I think it's sexy and scary at the same time. It rules. And reminds me of 80's slashers and skin flicks.

If I hadn't discovered Exile on Main St. at the impressionable age of 17, if I had known about Captain Beefheart before I knew about the Stones, Safe as Milk would be my all-time favorite. An incredible LP.
