In light of the catastrophic events that are engulfing Beirut and Lebanon, we are donating 100% of all our digital sales on today’s #bandcampfriday to Impact Lebanon and the Lebanese Red Cross.

Oiseaux-Tempête went for the first time in Beirut in 2016. We met there so many beautiful people who quickly became our soulmates and joined our collective adventure. Each year since, we were coming back to perform and to visit, as you do for your family. What happens 2 days ago, this apocalyptic explosion which blew away and destroyed the main part of the city is unbelievable, so heartbreaking... So many of our friends have been injured and have lost everything — relatives, houses, and a big part of their well-known courage.... Could you imagine Paris, Amsterdam, New-York, London, Tokyo entirely devastated? This is not Middle-East regularly war-zone blabla... This is billion times worst than the fire that consumed Notre-Dame... We learned so much from the men and women leaving in this city and this country. Today we are crying but would like to help as we can. The funds will be sent to trusted NGOs that are active on the ground in Beirut, supporting volunteer work, food f or shelters, and primary covers for windows and doors of most the houses in the city. Please support and spread the word. ❤️

Bandcamp is now adding a new feature: live stream events for 10 bucks. So far I've received notifications for upcoming performances by Sarah Davachi and Mary Lattimore, but that's of course because I'm following them - there could be many more artists doing these shenanigans.

This Friday, Support Artists Impacted By the Covid-19 Pandemic

We started Bandcamp Fridays back in March to support artists impacted by the pandemic, and in the past few months the music community has come together in a huge way: in just four days, fans put more than $20 million directly into the pockets of artists and labels.

That’s incredible, but just as amazing is that since the pandemic hit in March, fans have bought more than $75 million worth of music and merch directly from artists and labels, and to date, fans have paid artists over half a billion(!) dollars on Bandcamp.

It’s a good reminder that Bandcamp Fridays are really an extension of what Bandcamp is about every day. Thank you to all the artists and labels who shared their music with us, and the fans who spent their hard-earned coins to support the artists they love.

Because the pandemic is far from over, we’ll continue to hold Bandcamp Fridays on the first Friday of every month until the end of the year. A more detailed calendar is below.

Stay tuned for more details, and until then we’ll continue working to make Bandcamp the best place to support artists every single day. Thank you again, and we wish you all safety and good health.
