As you guys know, I purchased a copy of Dragon's Dogma the other day, and I'm completely hooked! It's what people who don't like to bugger about have been waiting for! It does everything you expect from an open world RPG but with a minimum of fuss and high-octane, fast-paced, visceral, acrobatic combat. There's also an undercurrent of survival horror about it a la Resident Evil 4. Fantastic stuff!

It brilliantly achieves a suspension of disbelief to such an extent that you actually feel like you're out in the countryside of the game world. You can almost feel the wind blowing in your face! The landscape is so wide open and tantalisingly ripe for exploration. The creatures you face are a mixture of traditional fantasy, like goblins, skeletons, dragons, ogres etc; mythical, like hydras, griffons, chimeras, cyclops etc, and horror, like zombies, wolves, bats etc.

Anyways, I went I played the original Japanese N64 Sin & Punishment, which I never really sat down and played it extensively, since waiting to get the "new" Wii classic controller with the better trigger buttons. So... yeah its just and good, if not better. I started getting a flow going and progressing through the levels, like let me tell you, it goes all Neon Genesis mind fuck and world is a sea of blood and spawn as some beastly mech to fight this crazyass boss and this like 20 mins into the game. So much fun!!!

This isn't that boss battle but the boss just before, a cluster of boss battles section. I recommend people download this game.

I haven't played the original either. Sounds killer though. Def. should get on downloading. There's a lot of Wii-ware/Virtual Console stuff I've been neglecting.

thought i wouldn't dig the whole 'twilight realm' storyline or playing as a wolf for a decent amount of the game
