i should check out xavier.
hey, if anyone had been watching big bang theory, i have a question. i liked the firefly references. i liked that it was mentioned, so maybe someone would check it out. but i wondered because of smth else, is it supposed to be friendly references, or ironic? friendly, right? |

I haven't watched it. It comes off as friendly references. It supposed to be one of those nerd shows. |

just finished s3 of boardwalk empire and it was satisfying. while not as thrilling or raw as other more popular shows that already have been mentioned to death, i like the "whole universe" approach and the numerous characters in it.
forgot to mention, HOMELAND. first season was pretty great, waiting for discs of season 2; 3 is about to come out o tv. |

Going through a marathon Nashville season 1 binge. I don't even really like it but I'm up to the last disc so I have to see it to the end.

oh, i just remembered, tremé.
was just listening to "hu-ta-nay" and remembered i love this show. yes, it's not as beastly as the wire (same production team), and yes, dj davis is an annoying character (he gets better), but all around it's a good show, a slow-cooking kind of delicious thing. and then besides all that good storytelling and characters you have a kind of music like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tIq81jlqXA FUCK YES. |

I tried watching Boardwalk Empire with the wife. I was so bored. I stopped after three eps. I couldn't give any less of a fuck about those characters and their fictionalized problems.

I don't know what's the general feeling about Kevin Spacey, but I've managed to watch the first series of House of Cards. I liked it overall but felt a bit disappointed with the plot developments towards the end of this first season.

i love him, but with the series i wasnt that amazed. also..from the middle and on, i had this feeling of him being overexposed. like when you see smth extremely beautiful too much, too often, smth is not working right. it was worth it however, for the 'him and us' scenes. |

Much like spacealiens who've assimilated Earth culture via old I Rove Rucy reruns, I've been scanning Aussie TV in an attempt to spake the language...mate.

the one with the red hair is my favourite, she looks so nice. I just want to hug her. OH SHIT I JUST REALISED THE ONE WITH THE HAIR AND THE NOSE WAS THE DOCTOR FROM ALL SAINTS GAHHHHH loved all saints. I'm going to start binge-watching BatB and dynasty, especially the latter (the bold is really annoying me right now, I just want hope to fuck right off, liam doesn't want you). |

Breaking Bad
Twin Peaks A lot of Battlestar Galactica, until the end was spoiled for me right around a slow point in the series, so I just threw in the towel on that one Oh, and Portlandia, as each season gets released on Netflix. Other than the occasional show like this that I binge on (which admittedly absorbs me for days/weeks), I pretty much only watch The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, and SNL - even though the latter is more ritualistic for me, since it's just something I've always watched, regardless of it's ups and downs. I know these don't count, but I'm only bringing it up because of the statement made by dead-battery in the original post. I'm sure it wasn't a 100% honest assessment of his feelings, but it clearly reflects how a lot of people seem to view entertainment. I like the new set up that we have for shows now. I don't get dragged in to just lazily sitting around a watching whatever is on. I choose exactly what I will watch, watch it, and move on.
