impossible to choose, an all Lee mixtape would make a killer album+... Excited for the new record, so vital!
in addition to all above: The Bridge Bloomington, Indiana future: Karen part III (not written yet) Streamed "Times/Tides", really surprised and impressed, some totally new colors in the palate. |

In alphabetical (read: no particular) order, although I can't imagine ever tiring off Hoarfrost, Genetic and NYC Ghosts & Flowers:
Sonic Youth: Genetic Hoarfrost I Dreamed I Dream Karenology Mote NYC Ghosts & Flowers Paper Cup Exit Rats Saucer-Like Skip Tracer Wish Fulfilment Solo stuff: Amarillo Ramp (For Robert Smithson) Ambient Loop For Vancouver Live In Bilbao (w/ Rafael Toral; bought this from Toral's site) Smoke Ring / The Leap Of Faith Time Stands Still, Destruction Site, Oroboron, Slo Drone (from East Jesus / From Here To Infinity) Xtina Probably some tracks from Music For Stage And Screen, although I haven't listened to it a lot. Me like on first few listens though. And as an aside: Eric's Trip should NOT be in any playlist - I'm sorry, but there's just something about this song that really rubs me the wrong way. |

There are more than 10 Lee songs? Just kidding. I say that because your track is usually my favorite on each album, yet there's so few.
1) Wish Fulfillment - side note: I've spent days and days of my life with this song. Listening to it on repeat in high school. Learning it on guitar. Dubbing it onto cassettes for girls. I can't believe this wasn't played live. It might fight with 'Diamond Sea' for best SY song all-time in my book. 2) Pipeline 3) Mote 4) Saucer Like 5) Genetic 6) Skip Tracer 7) Karen Revisited 8) Hoarfrost 9) Eric's Trip 10) Rats |

Are you sure it was Sonic Youth and not Lee solo? I'm almost positive I saw Lee perform this solo. In fact, I'm pretty sure it was at the 4/1/99 show.

The other lists speak to me as it is so I want to mention some songs that did not make it into the lists although Lee has a large part in writing all Sonic Youth music... some of these do feature Lee vocals. I could list many but i will only list a few in case anyone else is interested in making a favorite Lee music even if not officially a Lee song list. : ) it is kind of a messy list, apologies.
Antenna Silver Rocket / Trilogy / Sprawl+Cross the Breeze Ghost Bitch / Hallowe'en / Flower Becuz / The Diamond Sea Hits of Sunshine / Female Mechanic / Wildflower Soul Xpressway / Shadow of a Doubt / Marylin Moore New Hampshire / Peace Attack / Pattern Recognition Catholic Block / White Cross / PCH / Beauty Lies in the Eye and.... NYC Ghosts and Flowers / Murray Street just in general needed Lee just as much they needed Jim to be as masterful as they are! Lee's futurism and exploration mixed with O'Rourke's well-honed creative pallete was and still is a once in a lifetime. |
