It's just as hip to be in the anti-iPod counterculture as it is to be in the iPod culture, which is to say not at all.
Obviously, only commodity fetishizing cunts give a shit. |

Seeking help selecting a new (or used) MP3 player in 2015:
01. I would prefer it not be iPod (loved my old Samsung) 02. One w/CD to download studio to my desktop to work within (before transfering files to MP3 player) 03. At least 8GB, 16BG or higher preferred 04. Under $100 if possible 05. Where to purchase......so many web-searches return as no longer available. |

^^ get something big that plays FLAC so you can carry *everything*
this one looks awesome! but it's $700 lol http://www.cnet.com/news/hifiman-ult...-jump-for-joy/ (a lot of marketese in that piece but eh-- allow yourself to be impressionable for a minute) -- eta: from the comments i was pointed to this: http://www.amazon.com/iBasso-DX50-Ma.../dp/B00J6RVQJM i don't know anything about it but on first impression replaceable battery and SD card up to 2TB (!!!!) is a great proposition, i.e., easy to keep it for a decade or more, comes to $23/yr plus card cost @ 10 yr. sorry i can't make recommendations as i use mostly my phone ha ha |

I admit as much as i despise apple they have the best quality mp3 players even in the price range you're looking for... though i don't like the new nano so when my nano 5 finally dies inmay move on to a different brand

I'm not sure I understand this:
02. One w/CD to download studio to my desktop to work within (before transfering files to MP3 player) do you mean something with a software to make selections of the files you want to upload before you plug the thing to the pc? ---leaving that aside--- If you want something CHEAP (but still pretty decent for "normal" usage) for on-the-go listening nothing can beat Sansa clip + . You can use Rockbox with it, compatible with MP3, WMV, secure WMV, WAV, FLAC, OGG Vorbis and digital audiobooks, with sd card for additional storage. http://www.sandisk.it/products/music...us-mp3-player/ well within your price range even with added sd card to expand capacity. Only qualms, UI not as "smooth" as other brands/models, feels a bit plasticky... If you're willing to save a bit more to actually get something more, Sony AS15 is the player I'd buy right now. http://www.sony-asia.com/product/nwz-a15 (disregard all the pointless mumbo jumbo about its ability to "restore" mp3s quality, it's just a NICE player with good components even for "hi fi" files and reproduction), imho the sweet spot between portability and quality. but if you listen to music with a stereo system while at home and need just something as "soundtrack" while you're around it might well be a bit overkill. can't help about the "where to buy" section ...

I had a nice (but old) 4G Samsung unit that game with software for the Samsung Studio, which I loved. I could re-name / re-number tracks and this is how they would appear when I moved them over to my player. A couple of years back, the headphone jack broke inside the unit. It still works perfectly, but I can't get a headphone / MP3 speaker to stay when I plug it in. I took the player to several different electronic / computer places and no has the ability to crack open the unit and repair it.
I was looking at the Sony units while at work last night. Here is a 16G I found for under $100: http://www.abt.com/product/75519/Son...ign=NWZE385BLK I've read some good reviews about the sandisk. I'm sure it will come down to one of those. |
