Savage Republic often made use of a 12-string electric all tuned to one note, but I don't know what that note was.

(Local band) Varge! plays with a few different tunings...
Arcade Fire use a couple, not too often, though. Blonde Redhead Godspeed You! Black Emperor (sometimes) The Flying Luttenbachers (I think... maybe not, though) ... |

Is anyone else surprised that Slint didn't use alternate tunings?

Since we have some people in this thread who dig Jandek, would it be possible for anyone to Sendspace/Yousendit an album or two by him for me or any other curious listeners please? I've been reading up on him, and he sounds really interesting, but his music is not easy to come by, in stores or digitally.
Thanks in advance! |

No idea, you can tell that something's definitely fucked up on the tuning tip though when you listen to their music (also they have 3 guitar players).

drop-d wasn't that popular when they used it though. Now it's everywhere. |

i'm surprised no-one thought of using drop-d earlier. it makes power chords as simple as possible.

Nothing like a good old-fashioned one-finger riff.
