I think she needs some time off.
She was starting to look rather.. worn? But yeah I think we'll see her again.

I do think Jemima was the reason for what success they had. Not just in the obvious sense, but she was a great front person and I'm sure she'll be around in some capacity or another. Preferably as my wife.

Yeah, she had an awesome stage presence and she completely understands the crowd-band dynamic. I met her a couple times, and she was very sweet offstage. She knew what she was doing.

I met her once and she hugged me.
Haha I've met all of them at least once, they were all pretty friendly

Hey, there's nothing wrong with Paramore. Their last album is pretty decent in its own way. 'Hallellujah" especially is as addictive as crack. I was obsessed with it about a month ago, much to the annoyance of my housemate - who I'm sure was on the cusp of stabbing me to death if I played it any more while he was around. Quality tune, nonetheless.

Paramore always gets pulled into Be Your Own Pet discussions. They're in just about every BYOP YouTube comment. I don't see the similarity at all.

You really don't see or hear any similarities between the two bands, acousticrock? To each their own...
First of all, both are female fronted "punk rock" (that's how they're described at least) for kids shit bands. And so on. But hey if people like other band, cool. I just don't at all. |

They're about as similar as Coldplay and Sigur Ros. If you really want to you can hear plenty of similarities, but to me the differences are overpowering.

Which is why I said be your own pet is paramore for "indie" kids. I didn't say they sounded exactly alike or anything.
Just that they're both pretty embarassing bands. |

I fear we will never agree on the subject. We must settle this the only way we can.

Well yeah, both are bands that, let's face it, would likely not even have record deals were it not for their singers. Which isn't saying they wouldn't deserve one but, the simple fact is that they both trade almost exclusively on the glamour factor - whether either band admit it or not. In that way they're both Blondie minus the genius.

I dunno, it's like saying Pavement is the Weezer for "indie" kids. Obviously both bands have a very slackerish self-referential collegiate melodic pop style but obviously also Pavement aren't necassarily power pop and Weezer aren't exactly slacker rock. But, still, I think it's a fair statement.
And even though I don't personally think BYOP and Paramore sound identical, that wasn't my original point anyway; just kind of a "lack of a better thing to say"... I was just saying that they're an embarassing band to like. Both bands have shitty music and are only popular because their lead singers are somewhat above decent in prettiness. It's all image. |

Perhaps, but I do think that BYOP is talented enough to be considered a worthy musical force. They aren't incredible by any means, but they managed to have a distinguished sound. Paramore is pretty flush with other bands of whatever scene you want to call that. Melodic Emo-Rock.
