i find built to spill very boring.
i see them compared to modest mouse a lot, i don't see why, isaac brock is a much more inventive guitarist whether doug marsch (?) seems to be all about soloing mindlessly a la j mascis only j sounds like he means it. anyway, i file this band with superchunk, they are like green day except they didn't get played on the radio. by the way, i love "hyper enough" by superchunk, one of my all time favorite songs, but other than that, they sound too much like the offspring for me. |

I hate the dudes voice. Reminds me too much of Band of Horses and My Morning Jacket and all that. I like Modest Mouse, at least their older albums.

Way too much hating of a great band, for my likings.
You all need to go suck on a popsicle stick.

My guess from most of your tastes is you would love Perfect From Now On. I absolutely love that album, but thought Keep It Like a Secret was a huge let down as a follow up, for sound exactly like you describe it. It's funny I play PFNO so much that one night I was listening to On the Beach by Neil Young and my wife said, "Is that Built to Spill?" That was highly amusing. |

I like Halo Benders and find the juxtaposition of Cavlin and Doug's voices amusing and engaging. However, even at my most into them, I still can't shirk the "novelty" feeling of the group. I don't think it's a bad thing, but I don't think it stands up to the intensity of BTS at their best. But then, for me, that's one Perfect record. |

You get the car
I'll get the night off You'll get the chance to take the world apart and figure out how it works Don't let me know what you find out I need a car You need a guide Who needs a map If I don't die or worse I'm gonna need a nap At best I'll be asleep when you get back I wanna see it when you find out what comets, stars, and moons are all about I wanna see their faces turn to backs of heads and slowly get smaller I wanna see it now I wanna see it now I want specifics on the general idea I wanna think what I should know Want you to do me what to show I wanna see movies of my dreams I wanna see movies of my dreams I wanna see movies of my dreams I wanna see movies of my dreams I wanna see it when you get stoned on a cloudy breezy desert afternoon I wanna see it untame itself and break its owner I wanna see it now I wanna see it now "Car" is one of the best songs ever. |

I cant wait til I see them this september. They're gonna be doing all of perfect from now on live. Plus meat puppets and dinosaur jr are playing on the bill as well. Its like a dream lineup.

Wow, some BTS dissing. I can't agree with most of it. Doug is a way better guitar player than Isaac Brock. Isaac is a good noodler, but that's it. I just saw them live and they were better than the records. Some of the records have a lot of mediocre songs, but i could still pick out a killer set of BTS that is on par with just about anybody.
I like "There's Nothing Wrong with Love" and "Keep it like a Secret" best. But the poll is closed...?
