i got most of the older albums on CD, because i didn't have a record player when i discovered sonic youth. but since a couple of years i totally prefer vinyl, so i can't help to buy all the re-issues
the most beautiful SY related vinyl i have is this one: |

Ditto! I wanna jump into that picture (gingerly, of course, to keep from stepping on the vinyl goodies) and scoop all that good stuff up in my arms. Wow. |

I bought Murray Street and Nurse on vinyl. Everything before that was on CD because my little brother bought it and I stole it from him. My sister gave him a copy of Dirty and we got into it at the same time, and he just happen to buy all the albums, which was very convenient for me, he stopped liking SY around Murray Street, so I resumed. I lost my copy of Goo, and I leant my Corporate Ghost out to a friend. I need some Gooage.
Plus in 2004-2005 I didn't really buy any albums because I lived close enough to WRCT and was DJ'ing enough so I could access anything. It was great. The had some really rare stuff. |

I dig both CD and vinyl. I got many of both so I guess I go either way.

I have these on vinyl: Sister, Daydream Nation, Washing Machine, Bad Moon Rising (also on Blast First CD), SYR1, 3 and 4, Goo & Dirty Deluxes, Sonic Nurse, Murray Street, Disappearer 12", Master-Dik, The White(y) Album and the Helen Lundberg 7". And I also paid way too much for the Death Valley 69/Brave Men Run 7" at some point.
Can't wait for the RR and Psychic Hearts records. |
