I ran into a friend of mine
Said he was gonna take some words and make them rhyme I said "You can fool some of them some of the time, But you can only fool half them all of the time" He said "Yes I do believe this is true, Would you like to come and sniff some glue? And we'll fly to where the skies are blue And look for things both bright and new" And on a pretty Sunday morning
A bunch of pretty Baptist girls Linked their pretty hands and they sang Life is shit, life is shit The world is shit, the world is shit This is life as I know it This is life as I know it And in the sky I saw Richard Nixon
Smoking a lacey with Mr. Dickson He said "Son there's something I must say, I do believe I've found a better way" And a vision came And I new it was Bob Crane And Bob sang: Life is shit, life is shit
The world is shit, the world is shit This is life as I know it This is life as I know it And when my friend and I were done
We went to rest upon the sun Cause life takes from us the things we love And it robs us of the special ones And it puts them high where we can't climb And we only miss them all the time And we sing:
Life is shit, life is shit The world is shit, the world is shit This is life as I know it This is life as I know it This is life as I know it This is life as I know it This is life as I know

Life is the best. without life there is no sleep, no sex, no drugs, no music, no books, no films, no art, no science, no sport, etc.
I think that ios part of the lesson of the Book of Job, beside sthe surface teachings to trust in god and such. Life is a gift unto itself, regardless of the shitty things that happen during life. for every shit thing there are a million beautiful things, and so many people just never ever bother to take a second to appreciate the beautiful things as they happen, or as they pass by.

Life is pretty drab and boring if you ask me. Before you make generalizations like that, remember, some people's lives are spent in Minnesota.

life is what you make of it. if one chooses to spend it seeing all the crap that sucks, and focusing on the stuff one does not have or cannot access, then one will only ever get that in return.
then again, sometimes suck is suck. CHANGE IT! find out what really makes you think MINN sucks and CHANGE IT!

There are constants in life, Rob. Those are things that can not be changed. Money issues, health issues, etc are not really things I can change. And when I do, for example getting two jobs, then life gets rather drab and boring when I have no social life.
Solutions create problems elsewhere.

Life is good. But it is too broad to value all the time all at once. And sometimes for split seconds, removed from the context of our lives, death seems amazing too.

I don't intend to say that life is bad at all by statements above. It's just more stressful and a lot less fun now than it has been but the outcome of these next two years of working myself to death will be no debt, living outside of Minnesota and enjoying life. It's worth the short term stress rather than living with debt and being miserable all the time.

let's say you live to be 100. I would venture that if you actually did a run down of great versus crappy things in your life, the great would outnumber the crappy. The problem is that greatness is fleeting, but crfap is remembered and dwelt upon and rehashed. Most people I have ever known spend much more time talking about SUCK things than about the good things, even when great things happen to them. i think our suffering is our nature, and we are going to suffer no matter what, so you may as well determine your own life man. besides, like the wise sages say, all is temporary, and this is true, and this means that it is also true that you can and will CHANGE

Life is.
It is neither inherently good nor inherently bad. The quality of life is neither dependent solely by "what you make it" nor solely be how how life makes you. The quicker you come to realize that your circumstances are defined in the relationship between yourself and everything else, the better chance you'll have in appreciating both the good and the bad in life. |
