I love riding single speed, but I will always be a freewheel guy.

well, actually, to concede a point to everyneurotic's own experience, mexico city's traffic is ruled by satan. of course if more chilangos rode bikes the esmog would be lots thinner. -- ps- i spy a bike on the road!! ^^ or is that a dude standing up on the hood of a car?? |

bikes are for hippies and yuppies. ha!
i rather walk or take the metro to go to far off places, walking also releases endorphines. and delicious? do you mean you have sucked on a pituitary gland like raoul duke wanted? and yes traffic here is hellish, but ruled by morons possessed by satan which is alot fucking worse. stupid shit happens always every day, and even bikers do crazy shit and cause more traffic. |

I can trackstand with a freewheel for a good while.
My legs are plenty fit already from the big gear, and my knees are not crying out in pain from resistance stopping. I love flying down steep hills and will not give up coasting. Not having brakes is just pissing-contest territory, fixed or free. |

I love the look of fixed gear bikes (as long as they don't have those stupid motherfucking laminated "hip bike guy event" cards all up in the spokes), but so far the only advantage I can see in them is the "antilock brakes" factor being good for winter riding. I just make up for the loss in macho factor that I get by riding freewheel via my massive chain ring. |

one less thing to go wrong, less likely to get stolen (someone will jump on it, try to freewheel and get thrown off), easier in traffic.

Fixies are so popular here that they're almost more likely to be stolen, heh!

Cyclists are pricks, aren't they? I ride a bike to and from work, and around and about town. It's a laugh, innit? Actually quicker than the bus and about 4 million times cheaper than a car. But then I'm lucky to be in a city where that's feasible.
