I can never pin down my favorite smells to particular causes and I always forget what those smells smell like until I smell them again. Once I do, a flood of memories. Life's worth living just for those moments.

Something like this happened to me recently, walking past a metal recycling plant, the smell,as you say unlocked a flood of memories, details of the source long forgotton, maybe it was like an aromatic deja vu,(do i need help?),i guess some songs do the same thing some times, transport you back.Maybe i should consult some vast psychology tome on smells and their effects on triggering memories. |

Smells bring back more memories to me than anything. I have some of my moms old perfume and I spray it once in awhile so I am able to remember her better. It hasbeen 13 yaers now since her death. Her face fades out of my memory.
