although i saw them perform doolittle last month and it was AWESOME,
its pretty obvious they're just milking it for the money at this point (ticket prices were downright insane-most expensive show ive been to)

kevin shields has also been promising a new album for 20 years....unfortunately, i cant see it happening for these two bands anymore

He even had the balls to say they've completed "two new albums". Sure Kevin, we believe you. How about those Loveless and Isn't Anything remasters you promised four years ago? A box set compiling all of the EPs that you mentioned in 2004.... How's all that coming along?

Yeah, honestly I'd still buy it the week it came out. Even though I've lost respect for them over the years, I've still bought every DVD since the reunion, own some of their OOP stuff, saw them back in September.... They'll always have my money, as sad as that sounds. It's like a drug habit I can't shake off.

I know right? I'm actually a fan of his solo work and have been for many many years. But the Warren Zevon cover did nothing for me and "Bang Thwomp" was crap. I'll listen to this later but I don't have high hopes.

I've been ignoring Pixies news and info lately, because I've been thinking about how disappointing the last decade has been, and feeling a little bitter toward the band. But if there's really new shit... What did you say, NR? Three??!? Three new songs!? Well, then I have to check it out.

It's less exciting than MBV. Less exciting than Deltron... hell, less exciting than the new releases by active artists like Kanye and the Lips. But it's still new Pixies material. So what if the only albums I can listen to are B-Sides and BBC Sessions, for their relative novelty. It's the Pixies.

I haven't been able to stand Frank since Teenager of the Year, as cliche and predictable as that sounds. The only album of his that I've listened to more than a few times since then was FrankBlackFrancis, which I found oddly comforting.

He's the Paul McCartney of the group. Prolific, but utterly ordinary without the others.
