Does anybody know where I can get a copy of the documentary, 1991 The Year Punk Broke? Apparently, it was never issued on DVD. I like the clips I've seen from it, like the one where Kim Gordon is applying lipstick on Kurt Cobain and Dave Grohl.

You guys are pretty fucking Stupid. No offense. Just tough love.
Kurt Cobain was just being himself. Every great artist has just been themself. Of course there will never be another anyone, we are all so completely individual. Now the medias take on who "KURT COBAIN" was....there already has been another one. a great savior of rock n roll....comes around every 5 years or so.... just create. channel every thing that's ever influenced you, negative or positivley.... |

I like Kurt. He was kind of a selfish person, and obviously insane, but I appreciate how sloppy and abrasive and interesting his guitar playing was, and he had a real knack for creative, strange melodies. To think that Nirvana ever existed in a mainstream context is pretty insane, especially given today's landscapes -- where are today's Nirvanas?
I think my biggest problem I had with Kurt was all the biographies I read on him when I was 14, talking about him spitting in fan's faces, raping turtles with pencils, shit like that. But, really, I'm able now to listen to music without associating the person with the music they create, so I gotta give him a nod, especially MUDDY BANKS, what an album.. |

Todays nirvanas arent understood, because Nirvana wasnt understood, and even if they are out there "my band" they just get labelled "indie"... wtf is indie? independant? how can rock n roll be independant from anything when its a GENRE now...lol. im serious tho, Im not even being cocky, my goal is melody plus chaos plus INTEGRITY...an ingrediant ppl forget about... |

It's a documentary with SY and Nirvana in the lead roles if I'm not mistaken plus some other note worthy bands at that time. I think you can maybe get a VHS tape of it at some trumped up $$$$$$
here's a pointer to watch it on your monitor http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...5239075255736#
