Pre-ordered mine about a week ago and i'm not spoiling this! Plus I fear the great shriek of albini if he were to pick me out of a crowd for downloading it. I hope they do some US touring after europe.

I'm guessing it has leaked yesterday, because that's when it was added to indietorrents and oink and when the inevitable downloading discussion on Electricial Audio started (maybe the earlier ones were fake?). Anyway, not important. Whoever leaked it on IT says his/her online store sent it one week early by accident. Not a smart thing to disclose I think; neither is leaking stuff prior to release date. I felt dirty listening to it.
Dumbest question at Paradiso last week: "Will the new album be released on vinyl?"... Jesus fucking Christ. |

and everyone should treat downloading as taste testers, buy it if u like it. thats always been my filesharing thinking anyway........ adam, u got yr epic tracks anyway!!!!! |

You haven't said anything about what the music on the album sounds like, still you are worrying about the leaking of it, its length and such stupid matters. Of course you'd buy the thing after it leaked, or so I would expect of anyone. Not doing so would make you a leech, not a fan.

yeah i couldn't wait either. after seeing them twice at atp last week.
i was slightly concerned how some of these new/old tracks would come out after having played them for so long. but i'm not disappointed in the slightest. . . . i presume people on here have the peel session versions of the end of radio and paco from 2004. those are real treats and i was wondering if they could be bettered. end of radio is very similar/less urgent/builds more succesfully but excludes martina navratilova . . . i like your name martina navratilova. which is fine with me. but if you're after a general sort of opinion i'd say that the records are a step down from the live performances . . . well, yeah. |

Most of these songs have been played live in the past 3 years or so.
I was pretty sure The End of Radio wasn't going to be as good as the live versions I saw (especially the last one) and indeed it wasn't on first listening, but I'd need to hear it more often to be sure. |

terraform is quickly approaching my favorite actually... though i guess nothing could ever top at action park, but...
"Didn't we deserve", "this is a picture", and "canada" are 3 of my favorite shellac songs (besides "crow" of course). i'd say the new album, after listening to it 3 or 4 times is their second best recording. it feels so spacious. also, the music itself is a lot more interesting; they're even tighter (how?!) and more complex. and every song ends the same. it's delightful. love the new version of "spoke". |

I'm listening to it.
Got to elephant (homage/rip off of Gang of Four vocal styling?) - and I'm sure there are more which haven't come to me yet. Anyway, first impression on first half of the album: love it. |

Is Shellac getting old on me?
It sounds like it. Though this has to be my favorite album. |
