I could see there being a pretty big following for touring robot bands. Of course this concept goes back to the futurists at the dawn of the Twentieth Century in Italy, but I'm talking about bands with humanoid robot "rock stars" who actually play relatively traditional instruments. Transformers and KISS at the same time - it would rake in quite a lot of money I think.

Just curious why he would have to be a jerk? This might be an actualy interesting concept if somebody could use actual organs for the beats in music. In fact it would be successfully innovative. Of course there would still be plenty of actual jerks who'd prefer listening to NOFX... |

There already is a robot band... Captured! By Robots. One dude and a bunch of robots he built. They're kinda nerdy... it's like watching Mystery Science Theater on stage. They don't have a "pretty big following" Quote:
Just a guess. I'd probably rather listen to NOFX too. Maybe I will swallow a mic and record my insides while listening to NOFX... how's that for innovation? Quote:
I knew I had heard of some jerk already doing this. Stealing my ideas by having them before I did - what an asshole. |

its funny how when ever someone has a 'new' idea for music its always just some wacky way to make noise "what if you stick crickets up your bum and eat a taco!".
Everything has been done untill something new comes along.

someone is going to go out for drinks with friends, record it all, and make an album out of it. i just know it. it will either be hailed a disaster by the press or labelled a concept album.

it may have been done. but im working on some pieces that have no bass or drums. just guitar, but altering the tunings and strings to create a heavey percussion sound with the guitar.

the grateful dead served just such a purpose with their almost unnecessarily loud amplification through out the 1970s and 1980s. "Deaf Heads" would come sometimes by the dozen and dance right in front of the speakers to the sonic vibrations. as a result, there is a considerable following of the dead amongst deaf folk.

I'd love to see a Branca/Chatham style multi-guitar thingy done entirely on acoustics. Maybe someone's already done it, which stops it being innovative. Cool though, nonetheless.
