Warehouse makes me happy and nauseas at the same time.
Go with Zen Arcade. The best place to start is Metal Circus, but it's so damn short you'd probably feel done if you payed a lot for it. |

PErsonally I say New Day Rising is a great album to start with. Definitely not Candy Apple Grey.

That's because it's mediocre. Try Metal Circus or New Day Rising. |

Uhh I went into the shop and they only had Warehouse. I went on a trek around the centre for Zen Arcade and some store is stocking in a few days. So until then...

Land Speed Record may turn a newbie off, due to it's bootleg like quality. If you wanna check out their more Hardcore side, Everything Falls Apart is pretty great to my ears. There are some great bonus tracks on the cd reissue (In A Free Land being one of my all time favorite songs).

I bought Zen Arcade (not from the store who said they had it stocked however). I'm listening now, what should I buy next assuming I like it?

well that album is absolutely all over the place so with regards to that i'll definitely say get Metal Circus next. i really dont know what some of these people are on about. Zen Arcade is their best hands down no contest. i think theyre really just being contrary. Metal Circus is pretty short so youre not really going to get much of a fix so i'd go with Everything Falls Apart after this. My 4th fav is Land Speed Record. ive never understood the complaints about the recording quality. it sounds fine. but if you dont like sraight up old style hardcore well thats what it is. completely different sound from the other records. everything falls apart is in no way a hardcore record the way this one is. peopel who dont like hardcore can enjoy that one but its absolutely not the case with Land Speed Record. i'm actually not a real big fan of anything else theyve done. New Day Rising is a completely inept and feeble follow up to a monument like Zen Arcade. I Apologize?! you fucking better because that song is not worthy to lick the boots of the worst song on Zen Arcade. |

ok fair enough i'll listen to it again but the last time i played that album was at a party and i had to take it off after that song because it was such a monumental flop. but to be fair it was following daydream nation in its entirety which of course brought down the house. |
